One of the best rooms IMO. But everybody has a different opinion and you'll have to try rooms out to know what your opinion is.

I'm not a big fan of Planet Hollywood, Bally's, Flamingo, etc. because those places take more rake. They also might have more regs than people think because not every reg will prefer the big rooms. When I first started out playing 1-2 NL, I played at places like Planet Hollywood because I was afraid of the competition in the bigger rooms and I might have been the nittiest 1-2 player in Vegas back then.

There was a house funded BBJ for tournaments but I think it was more like 2012

Planning my next trip to Vegas & the Venetian - I'm thinking of spending about 5 days during the second week in June next year. I've never stayed during this time of year (when the WSOP was in town). I'm planning to put in my 6 hours a day at the Venetian (I play mainly 1/2 but some 2/5) and take advantage of the poker room rate.

Does the poker room get crazy and can the list to get a seat be huge during certain times during the WSOP - where planning to put in my 6 hours a day and getting the poker room rate could be a logistical issue ?

It does get really busy during WSOP but staying there, you can call from the room and get on the list. Can't imagine you'd have that much trouble getting in the hours for the room rate. Also, if they have a Deepstack going, I *think* playing an event gets you the room rate for that day.
Poker room staff always very helpful regarding the room rate, what qualified etc. Just ask someone there or maybe even call in May before they're packed & get details nailed down then...

Thanks.

I've stayed there before and the poker room staff was extremely helpful in every way.

Looking forward to my next trip.

You won't have any trouble. Room is big and the lists move fast. You're much better off here than at Aria or Bellagio.

And as the other poster said, if you play DSE events those count toward your requirement.

Hey everyone,

Not sure everyone here is aware, but Venetian parent Las Vegas Sands Corp. and its CEO, Sheldon Adelson, are leading and financing a major effort in the US to ban online poker throughout the nation. The corporation itself has lobbied extensively for a ban, and corporate lawyers even wrote the initial draft of the ban legislation.

As of last night, former Congressman Jon Porter (R-NV) estimates Adelson's chances of success during the lame duck (which formally ends Jan. 20, 2015, but with most remaining action this week and the first week of January) at 50/50.

To learn more, please be sure to visit Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson escalates effort to ban online poker & online casino gaming in NVG. Thanks.

For the poker room rate, do you have to be staying at the Venetian the day you play the 6 hours needed? Can you save the hours? I’m planning trip to LV. For the first few days I’ll be with some friends playing poker, but staying at a different hotel. The last few days I’ll be at the Venetian with my wife. Can I play 6 hours on a day I’m in a different hotel to get the Venetians poker rate, and then use it a few days later when I’m staying in the Venetian with my wife?

This year, I was in Vegas the first week of June.

The DSE was going on at the same time, and several waitlists (@ 7pm) were 20+ deep. It's true that the nlhe seats go quicker than the other games.

Since the powers-that-be decided that they couldn't "afford" poker room tables outside of the poker room, there can be times where you will be waiting a loooooong time, depending on the DSE, and how many tables become vultured by the tournaments.

What are the min and max buy-ins for 1/2NL and 2/5NL.

Do any limit games run there often and if so - at what levels ???

I'll be heading out to Vegas for my bachelor party February 27-March 2. I'm a 2/5 regular here in Central FL. I play regularly at Tampa HR, Daytona Kennel Club and I'll make the occasional trip down south to Hollywood, FL HR.

From some threads I've read and feedback from some friends it seems like Aria/Venetian are the rooms I'll be playing the most in. It will be my first time in Vegas! I look forward to playing with you all.

*Are alcoholic drinks free in the poker rooms to?

Tommy, just a quick check in to see if you are close to releasing the summer DSE schedule. I see the WSOP is close and wondering when to expect yours to help plan some trips this summer. Thanks.

Wondering the same thing. Would def fly out Wednesday before colossus if there was a 300-500 tourney with a guarantee. If not, probably just fly out for colossus

Heading out to Vegas soon and I am staying at a friends place nearby Venetian. Getting in fairly early and have to wait for him to get off work. I was thinking I'd shoot over to V from the airport and play until he gets off. Are they cool about letting you check bags at the front desk? Or would I need to give them the old "I have a room reserved for later" and if so, would that work? Or would they check my name against the reservations? Thanks...

You can check your bags. They won't care why. Be sure to tip.

Check it with the Bell Captain's desk. Don't tell them you have a reservation later -- they'll try to deliver it to your room. If they ask, just tell them you're playing poker. Tip.
