I went down to Parq today and wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come back. Slots and table games were set up where the poker used to be, and it appeared they even changed their signs.

I dont see the poker coming back to parq, hard rock or river rocker. The only poker room I see coming back is Grand Villa. That’s the only room dedicated for it. Parq is already down so much money same with the Rocks.

GV has always been profitable. Even after all this I dont even see Gv hosting poker anymore.

If Grand Villa is so dedicated to it then why did they move it down into the basement before the pandemic started? They had a perfect space for it previously.

More tables were able to fit in the dedicated room as well as the space and convenience of having a private room

Just wanted to check in on the Vancouver poker scene again. Is anyone here still fairly active with local Pokerstars Home Game leagues around the city? I noticed that alot of people I knew, even casuals and newbs were playing in those leagues when the pandemic started. I think the activity may have tailed off though.

Was actually hoping something might be in the works now that other public events/activities are finally being allowed, so I phoned the local room late last week. Was simply told their room isn't open and no date yet on re-opening.

If you told me last year that poker wouldn't be back by the end of 2021 I wouldn't have believed you... but now I'm not as certain.

According to Cascades and Grand Villa websites, their poker rooms open tomorrow (November 3, 2021) with limited hours / limited tables. Websites for other casinos offer no news at all regarding poker.
