Indeed the gambling age is 18. I too am a college student <21, so TR is the only place around I play. The 1/2 is very soft. If you're at all competent, you'll be a winning player. The minimum buyin is $60, the maximum is $300. Be prepared to see open raises to ~$15 rather than the typical $5 or $6 you'd expect at 1/2 -- this is normal for a good 1/2 live game. New players are often surprised by the big preflop raise sizes. You must adjust your play accordingly.
Any time during the day, there shouldn't be too much of a wait. Weeknights, you should get into 1/2 in under a half hour. Friday and Saturday evenings into the night is when it gets really crazy -- 3+ hour waits are not unheard of. You can call the casino's listed phone number and ask for the poker room to inquire about the wait time before you go, but you can't put your name in over the phone.
Also, you may want to check in the general live poker subforum to learn about some live etiquette things if you haven't played much in a casino. The dealers should be able to help you learn what you need to know, but there are some basics people get tripped up on in their first time playing in a live casino setting.
Other things to know:
There are free non-alcoholic beverages while you're playing.
They have free valet parking but people I know prefer to park themselves so as not to have to wait.
Be sure to get a TR rewards card. It's free, and you get $1/hour of playing poker that you can spend at all the restaurants at the casino.
Best of luck to you!
