It was the big whale at the table who was doing it. Good for the game. And shouldn't be against the rules anyways since it's a HU pot. Like I said, anything goes in 5/10.

Finally made my first trip down to TW this weekend.

Really don't get people saying it's a dump. It's totally fine. It's about on the level of flamingo/harrahs in vegas.

Which is not to say it's awesome or anything. But my closest poker venue for the last year was Rockingham.
That place was a complete dump. TW is a vast improvement.

Gl with that. I won a bet like 7 years ago that mass would not have a casino in 5 years besides a slot parlor. I am willing to take another bet saying that in 5 more years they still won't have one

I'm going to Twin River tomorrow (Wednesday) for the day/night. What's a good time to get there so that I can get into a 2/5 game without too long of a wait?

I can get there by 11am, but not sure if games are running then.

Thanks!

Also, any good restaurants in the area?

There should be minimal wait for 2/5 at basically any time on a Wednesday. 11am should be no prob. I doubt you'll have to wait more than half an hour any time. Pretty sure all stakes run 24/7.

Idk about restaurants in the area but TR has good restaurants at it. The Shipyard right by the poker room is surprisingly good. They do a good steak and cheese sandwich. TR also has a big food court. And you can use your rewards points at any restaurant.

I was at TW from noon to 7pm on Wednesday and the best word to describe it was meh. Venue was meh, food was meh, but most importantly the game as well.

I spent the first couple of hours playing 2/5. The whole table was a bunch of nitty regulars who all knew each other very well. After being up $200, I left that table down $165. Meh!

Had lunch at The Shipyard, which was The Neighborhood Salad with Grilled chicken. Meh. Not bad, not great.

Post lunch I went to swim with the fishes at a 1/2 table. Loose action, very obvious tells and no fold buttons, with one exception. I straddled, got pocket 4s and raised it up when it came to me. Flop was 4-4-8 with 5 callers.

Bingo!

I checked and it all checked around. Turn was a K. I bet $30 and got one caller. I bet $75 on the river. Fish was in the tank for a while and then folded *sob*. He said "Lucky for you that you bet $75, if you bet $60 I call." So I showed my quads and said "Not so lucky for me."

Left 1/2 up $388 and up for the day. Downside was I spilled an entire glass of red wine on my blouse and lap. You'd think they'd never seen a woman in wet t-shirt before. lol

We saw a guy get escorted out of the poker room and casino yesterday. He sat down at a 1/2 table in front of a pokers chips and started playing poker. The owner of the chips came back after a bathroom break and they called the floor and security.

Strange dude. He seemed like he was on drugs or something. He kept saying that he thought those were his chips and that he was sorry.

If you see this, please say something to the dealer. The whole game got stopped while the floor and security tried to figure out what to do. And the dumb a$$ wouldn't even get out of the seat until security told him to get up.

This person should be banned from the property.

If I could call the shots, make the dealer pay for whatever was loss, and worse, fire him

What if there was a dealer change between when the guy left and the imposter sat down. Then the dealer would have 0 way of knowing who was supposed to be sitting there. If that's the case, the only people who could have caught it would be the tablemates.

But if I were peacefully grinding 1/2 and I look up and there's a new guy in a certain seat, I would assume the old guy had left and this was a new arrival, or even if the old guy had been gone awhile, that he had been picked up. Now that I think about it, sounds like there isn't even that much protection against this happening.

Seems like the only fair thing to do is reimburse the chips' owner the full value of his stack while letting everyone else keep their earnings of the imposter.

And then everyone would have their friends sneak up on their stacks, go crazy with hopes of doubling up, and if not you get re-imbursed!
Basically, the only way to tackle this situation is to prevent it from happening. Put a cover on your chips when you leave, take bills and big chips etc.

From what I saw, it looked like the player had about $80 or $100 in front of him. I'm not sure that any chips were actually used or not.

I saw security walk the dumb a$$ out to the south exit doors. Another player at my table said that this guy had done the same thing the day before.

On that note, then everyone else should be paying up too and getting a 6 month ban for not speaking up and saying that the stack doesn't belong to him. Really dude? Lmao

I've been there a few times in the last month and can offer the following:

-dealers aren't as bad as people are describing. Some are actually good. Sharing tips with all games has to suck though.

-I go to Shipyard next door and get a can of decent IPA, but from what I see drink service seems dismal. Once an hour, some guy will show up with a tray of drinks.

-play is just super soft at 1-2. I feel like a greek god of poker at every table I sit at, and I ain't nothing special.

-conversely, there are also a lot of shorts stacks around, often 2-3 at each table. Some just reload 100 at a time and others just grind that 50 stack.

Is it still bad? I was thinking about coming around 830pm tonight for 1/2 or 2/5... how do the lists look at this point, I'm assuming even worse? Thank you
