I went down to play a tourney at gold strike Saturday night. Stopped by the shoe to see a couple of friends that were playing poker there. They had a few 1/3 games and 4/8 games. Also were running a 4/8 O8 table with a half kill. Had lists for 10/20 and 20/40 as well. This was right before 7pm so I'm not sure if those games ever started up or not. If you like tournies sat the shoe has a 10k gauranteed at 4pm and the gold runs a smaller one at 7pm. I'll be down there for the magnolia series the first weekend in Nov if anyone wants to meet up. Pm me.

FYI:
Samstown Casino in Tunica will be having a 25K Guaranteed for a 220 buy-in tentatively set for the 12th of Nov. (Their 15K Guaranteed usually pulls about 23K into the prize pool)

This conflicts with the Magnolia Tournaments Main Event which is set to run the same day @ the Shoe.

Might be a silly request, but could anyone get me a decent $1 chip from Harrahs? I keep a chip from all places I've played. I stopped there on a business trip a few weeks ago but must have misplaced the chip during my travel home. I can send PayPal of whatever reasonable amount you'd like for your troubles. Thanks.

Which event do you think is going to have the better structure?

Shoe has the better structure... Sams has a jump (600.00 jump)

As in they use a flatter payout structure? Is it still top 10%?

Lots of changes at Gold Strike. Our new manager, Karen Kaegin, started 2 weeks ago and I have nothing but possitive things to say about her outlook for the room. Lots of fresh ideas being brought in and I can speak for myself and other managment that we feel very good about the direction we're going. I'm not posting any details about changes to come but I invite you come give us a try. For now I'm still on grave so come say hello.

Todd

Chipr, what promos do you have going on right now? How many 1/3 NL tables do you usually have on the weekends?

I've heard a lot of good things about Karen (cares about the game, the players and employees) from some quality folks. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprized with her at the GS! Good luck!

We have multiple 1-2 games on the weekends. (5-7 average) On a side note we have no cap on our no limit so the games can play quite deep at times.

Do these promos run on weekends too? I was at Harrah's and Karen came in to visit with the staff. The dealers spoke very highly of her as she used to run the poker room at Harrah's. One even said he wished she'd come back to Harrah's.

Also, if you would be so kind as to go to Harrah's and find the couple from Philly and take the woman to the Gold Strike, the players at Harrah's would be most appreciative. It's one thing to have to listen to her while her stack is $400, but something completely different when she's short-stack.

From my experience most of the 2/5 action is at the Horseshoe, however I'm sure the GS may have one table running on the weekends, not sure though.

Where in Mississipi, Alabama, Florida, or Louisiana is the main attraction for TRUCKERS? I just moved to Acadiana, LA area and commute to Pensacola Beach now and then, and want to play poker against TRUCKERS and not REGULARS on the way. Logical isn't it? Where would you guys recommend me going to, taking into account distance travelling and cost effectiveness? I've tried the Lousiana thread but no one is reading that. Thanks
