I only go to the Taj once a year....for ATLARGE....which starts March 12. The Taj was my first card room and I def still have a "first love" relationship with it. I love going back every year. I'm a Borgata player now though (great 2-5 selection and PLO every weekend).

So anyway....if I ask to start a PLO list I'm pretty sure it will get 10 names. Would they start the list and game?

They ran a 5/5 PLO/NLH a couple weekends ago. Pretty sure that's gotta be a player-requested game" "And they've taken my name a couple times for 1/2 PLO w/o any drama. It's never run when I started the list, though.

I don't see why they wouldn't esp. if you're with ATLARGE and explain to them that you'd really rather give the Taj your business opposed to playing somewhere else (even if you really don't mean it). If you're there during the day, try and talk to Gerald or Jerome over at the high limit podium----both guys are very accomodating. If you happen to be there at nighttime, Vinny (night time Shift Manager) is also very accomodating.

As long as they have the dealers and the interest, I'm sure it'll be fine--it's not as if a PLO game is going to interfere with any of the regular games that are usually spread, so, you should be good to go.

No casino runs a mixed game tourney on w/e's or weekdays....ever....unless there is a Borgata Open series going on.

WSOP Caesars is soon....not sure it they will have a HOSE tourney

Stud games:

$20/40: There's usually two games going at any given time, sometimes more on the weekends. If I had to compare this game to the $40/80 game that's also spread at the Taj or to the $30/60 game that is spread over at the Borgata...hands down, this is the better of all three games. It plays very loose, and, it is not unusual to see players put in two day sessions without sleep (sometimes longer!)....so you know those games have got to be +EV.

$40/80: Goes every Saturday/Sunday...usually two games. Sometimes they get a game on Friday if the interest is there. These games aren't usually as crazy as the $20/40 games are, but they're still pretty good for the most part. (if Henry's in the game...it'll be worthwhile).

I'll be dropping by the Taj this weekend and was wondering the same thing since a bunch of their March/April promotions got tied to earning x tier points v. minutes of play time. So yeah, one of my goals this weekend was to find this out.

Funny thing is that all those games listed are exactly the ones that I play.

coming out for atlarge next week and was wondering the following. Assuming I am equally skilled in all 3 games stud, stud8, O8 (may or may not be true..lol) which games are better EV wise? I have played 10-20, 20-40 stud but never 15-30-45 2 way. Is this a tough game..nitfest?? How does it differ from 10-20 Split game at Borgata?? thanks for any input......

The 15/30/45 two-way is a tougher/way more aggresive game than the 10/20 game at the Borgata. Neither game is nitty (although I haven't played the 10/20 game in a very long time) but, the real difference between the two games is that, you will find the same amount of action/big pots in BOTH the stud8 round and the O8 round, whereas, in the 10/20 two-way game over at the Borg.. the action in the stud8 round is almost at a complete hault and makes for a rather dull game overall.

If you were truly equally skilled in all three games, I would say to play the 20/40 stud because I think you'd stand to earn more long term, but, be prepared for a higher variance-type of game cause that's what you're going to get. On the other hand...if you were to sit in one of the 10/20 stud games at the Taj...it's like night and day vs. the 20/40 game; much tighter, low variance etc..

No clue for those exact limits, but I got 20/hour for 3/6 LHE a couple of weeks ago. Usually 1/2NL = 3/6 LHE when it comes to comps and tier credits in AC.

I have sworn off responding to these threads. Look the information up for yourself. ONCE a year, I call the Showboat. Then I track the credits. The credits did NOT change this year. I was last there in Feb.

It's a lot of fun and the structure is decent. But with a 20% fee structure that kind of sucks. The best structures are by far at the Borgata. I usually play there but if I feel like playing in a tourney late I play this at the Taj once in a while.
