The poker rate varies each week/weekend. Call our marketing people at 702-894-7222 to check rates for specific days, and also to book the room.

Thanks!

I played 30+ hours the first week of the promo in January just to see what it was like and found games were running 24/7 most of the week, albeit made up mostly of local grinders. I understand that 9 players that week actually made it to 60 hours.

Due to travel and other priorities, I hadn't made it back to the room until last week when I once again put in 30+ hours. However, I found a completely different experience. Games were no longer running through the night. Once the last game ended, the room shut down and did not reopen until 10 the next next morning. However, the only action in the morning was a low buy-in tourney. Cash games usually didn't get started until early to mid afternoon, and then would run short-handed throughout the day. On the positive side, TI will clock you in so that you earn comps while sitting at a table waiting for a game to begin. I once sat with a couple of other guys for over three hours during which time we managed to play about 30-45 minutes of poker when a 4th player would show up and lose his $100 buyin.

As evening approached, the games got better and two tables would actually fill up with a waiting list of one or two additional players waiting to play. I did notice several more tourists playing during this past week then had been playing back in January. I believe that only one or two players made it to 60 this past week. And I'm not aware of any that reached 40 or 50hrs, but I was looking at a roster that delineated everyone's earned times up through 5:30 on Saturday, so its possible that they eventually made it. I had over 27 hours by early Thursday evening, but didn't go back until Saturday night at 8:00pm to squeeze in my last 3 hours before the midnight deadline.

I probably won't make a concerted effort to go back and pile up the hours (30/wk is a lot for me). I'd rather return to my old haunts of Wynn or Red Rock, Besides, although most of the dealers are great, there is one dealer at TI who I consider to be a dick to the players and I don't want to put up with his downs anymore. He spent one complete down chastizing a female player who had folded out of turn a couple of times. The first time he sat down at my table he chastized me because he didn't like where my chips were stacked, (even though they had been in the exact same place just off my right elbow the entire week.) I stared at him for a couple of minutes, said you've got to be kidding, and then I just got up and walked away from the table for 30 minutes. Upon my return, I penalized him on his next down by not providing any tips for pots I dragged, (After that one down, I went back to my usual practice of tipping for any pot won, even one without a flop. I thought the one down penalty was sufficient.)

But my bottom line is that I'm going back to playing where I am most comfortable, where the dealers are all great, the cocktail waitresses are all smoking and efficient, the drinks are good, and the poker is fun.
there's one dealer there that's really bad, the rest are all good. we're probably talking about the same one.

FWIW I'm in the process of finding out the bad apple and fixing it. If anyone who reads this thread has any issues with anything related to the TI poker room, please PM me so that I can address any issues, including dealers to make it better for everyone else.

Thanks!

what is the rake like in TI? and can you give weekly average of tables how they are doing.
Is there anyone doing this promo for the past 3 months, since it began? How is that going for you?

Rake:
$1 at $10
$1 at $20
$1 at $30
$1 at $100

Jackpot rake:
$1 at $10
$1 at $30

Comps: $2 per hour

We reduce rake at 6 players or less.
On weekends the games usually go 24/7. During the week, the first game starts at 11am and runs until at least 5am. Weekdays usually 2 games going, weekends 4. The promo has brought solid participation and hopefully will continue to improve as we just added free WiFi and have another great promotion lined up for April. Details to come next week.

They almost never have a 2/5 which is why I'm not playing there.

No, but our $1-$3 has a $100-$500 buy in, so often times it plays close to a $2-$5.

Play 40 hours = $400

Does this still apply? Is there a link for the promo info if so?

Was only a single 1/3 last night, although it was able to stay nearly full most of the night.

I'm really surprised it wasn't fuller with the WSOP going. It used to be packed, with every table full durng WSOP. This room has really fallen off the radar. Maybe they need to advertise in Card Player or Bluff or something. They certainly need to get on Bravo Live, since they are using Bravo anyway. PHo was rocking in comparison, with a good 6 games running. Pho and TI used to run neck and neck. Not any more.

Generally speaking they are suffering a similar fate of many smaller rooms in town the last couple of years. But specifically I think they are also a victim of their location. While the Mirage is not what it once was, they still provide plenty of competition. And of course the behemoth that is the Venetian is right across the street where they have 800 games going on any given night. The guys in the TI room work really hard to promote their room and I give them all the credit in the world for their efforts. But if you can't pack a room giving away more than 2.5k a month, maybe this is one of those problems that just doesn't have an answer.

I haven't seen them work all that hard. What are you speaking of? Printing up fliers and having them in the poker room? Do they advertise in actual POKER magazines? why aren't they on Bravo live? That's where I found out about Pho's promotions, and they got my business.

I was speaking specifically of those who work in the room. I agree with you that the larger casino itself and those that make the decisions regarding larger scale advertising are doing a terrible job of promoting the room.

This is how sad it is - the poker room link on TI's own website is dead. You can't even fiind out about the poker room on their own hotel's website.

I am no longer the poker room manager at TI. I resigned a few weeks ago. I'm moving back to Michigan with my family to raise my son close to home.

I will still drop in every now and again and give my 2 cents, am certain I will still be in touch with a lot that is happening in the room. I have been there since the room opened and I still want the best for it and all those that work there.

One thing I do want to mention is the part about advertising in magazines, etc... I tried for 4 years to get magazine ads, and was turned down over and over. The owner doesn't believe in print ad, and getting any money from the casino for any kind of advertising is nearly impossible.

Anyways, those that I've been in touch with, I wish you the best.
