As only a visitor I would have been inclined to play at TI had I known about this deal while in LV. Hopefully it hangs around for a bit until next trip.
Plans are in place to keep this going for quite some time, as long as it continues to be popular.

Yup, I only found out about it on 2p2. I don't think I got any emails about it even though I'm signed up on their email list. I don't recall seeing any signage in the poker room either, nor anywhere else in the casino.

I've received two e-mails on the promotion, roughly the first of each month.

There is signage all over the casino, and we have fliers and business cards that are splattered around the poker room, and casino as well. We use AVP, FB, and Twitter, but don't have any other form of advertising (magazines, radio, etc...)

Is anyone interested in getting a regular 2/5 going at TI? I think if we get it started, we can probably keep it going.

There are a few regulars that would definitely play if the game got going.

I kinda miss playing at TI...sorta stopped a few months ago...combo of some really strange attitude from the one dealer there who wasn't great, and getting a job around the same time.

Troy is good peoples.

Quick story: Tourist leaves cell phone in poker room charging. He and his wife head to airport without it. Call poker room to ask if it's there. Troy rushes off and hand delivers it to them at the airport. Pretty cool imo.

Also a few really good dealers there. Should stop by and say wzup sometime, even if I can't currently fit 60 hours in.

We used to have massage girls but they left us because business wasn't good enough for them to justify staying. Pedro gives good massages on graveyard, and only charges .20 cents a minute.

Any restaurant, bar, starbucks. Not at the gift shop, not to be applied to room charges, not for Mystere, not for the spa.

It's still running, but I don't think it is having the effect on the room that was hoped. I played 30+ hours the first week of the promo in January just to see what it was like and found games were running 24/7 most of the week, albeit made up mostly of local grinders. I understand that 9 players that week actually made it to 60 hours.

Due to travel and other priorities, I hadn't made it back to the room until last week when I once again put in 30+ hours. However, I found a completely different experience. Games were no longer running through the night. Once the last game ended, the room shut down and did not reopen until 10 the next next morning. However, the only action in the morning was a low buy-in tourney. Cash games usually didn't get started until early to mid afternoon, and then would run short-handed throughout the day. On the positive side, TI will clock you in so that you earn comps while sitting at a table waiting for a game to begin. I once sat with a couple of other guys for over three hours during which time we managed to play about 30-45 minutes of poker when a 4th player would show up and lose his $100 buyin.

As evening approached, the games got better and two tables would actually fill up with a waiting list of one or two additional players waiting to play. I did notice several more tourists playing during this past week then had been playing back in January. I believe that only one or two players made it to 60 this past week. And I'm not aware of any that reached 40 or 50hrs, but I was looking at a roster that delineated everyone's earned times up through 5:30 on Saturday, so its possible that they eventually made it. I had over 27 hours by early Thursday evening, but didn't go back until Saturday night at 8:00pm to squeeze in my last 3 hours before the midnight deadline.

I probably won't make a concerted effort to go back and pile up the hours (30/wk is a lot for me). I'd rather return to my old haunts of Wynn or Red Rock, Besides, although most of the dealers are great, there is one dealer at TI who I consider to be a dick to the players and I don't want to put up with his downs anymore. He spent one complete down chastizing a female player who had folded out of turn a couple of times. The first time he sat down at my table he chastized me because he didn't like where my chips were stacked, (even though they had been in the exact same place just off my right elbow the entire week.) I stared at him for a couple of minutes, said you've got to be kidding, and then I just got up and walked away from the table for 30 minutes. Upon my return, I penalized him on his next down by not providing any tips for pots I dragged, (After that one down, I went back to my usual practice of tipping for any pot won, even one without a flop. I thought the one down penalty was sufficient.)

But my bottom line is that I'm going back to playing where I am most comfortable, where the dealers are all great, the cocktail waitresses are all smoking and efficient, the drinks are good, and the poker is fun.
