its gonna be tough to get a poker room rate and if you do, it's usually nothing too special. harrahs is probably like a 35 min drive from the stadium. it's not too bad. you just jump on highway 70 and it'll take you all the way downtown. the 1/2 games at harrahs usually play pretty tight, but you can still find profit in them. if you're looking to play games with more action 1/3 at lumiere is the way to go

I may have to hit up both places if the action at Harrahs is no good. What room do those of you in the St Louis area prefer & why?

Buckner86, seriously you should stay at a downtown hotel or at Lumiere. Even if you have to shell out an extra $100 a night for a room it is well worth it both for convenience and action. You can catch a shuttle from Lumiere to the game and back, the action at Lumiere will be infinitely better than Harrah's, and if interested the night life will be great during the series. You will make up the extra cost in accomodations by playing in the Lumiere games opposed to the Harrah's games during this series. You will not be disappointed by the action. Good luck and hope you have a positive experience while in STL.

lol the strip clubs in st.louis are apparently some of the best in the country... some random dude in florida just came up to me and said that to me one time while i was down there over the summer... i actually run a 1/2 game with a topless dealer. you might have to plan a second trip to stl

Yeah, you'd be well advised to map your route. Safest way is to stick on route 3 and go to sauget. There are wrong turns u can make that might cost you your life. East St. Louis is often the murder capital of the US. The strip clubs are right outside of E. st louis, in sauget and brooklyn. Sauget being the safer of the two, you should still be very careful. PM me if you'd like more info.

You could take Hwy 64 to Hwy 111 and go to Larry Flints or Hollywood without getting lost or worried since they are right on the Hwy. Only a 10 min ride away

Obviously the Lumiere will have juicy games due to the World Series, but anyone think River City will get any significantly increased numbers tonight?

I play 3-6, but I cashed out ~4 racks of profit yesterday. Most pots well over $50. Saw one guy cap two different rivers with A high "just to see what you had."

So, that game was livelier.

business will be down at RC due to the WS. I was there last night to watch the game and the only place that had people for the most part was Judys Lounge were everyone was watching. The poker room had only two games going throughout the game.

I would've liked to go to the Lumiere but I figured traffic would be horrendous after the WS game, so I opted for RC. No regrets though, since I booked a +$216 win in 2.5 hours. Could've been $175 more but let someone (the RC BBJ winner, actually) bluff me off TPTK. Bah.

Edit: But yeah you're right. There were 4 tables running when I went in, and around 7:00 it dwindled down to 2 tables, so I went ahead and left while I was up.

I'm curious as to where you got the schedule. Nothing on their website, nothing on their Facebook.

I don't live in the area and would appreciate any further updates such as structures, length of levels, room discounts, entrant caps, etc.

Do you know if the Main Event is a 2-day event? 3-day?

It was, but in the opposite direction. Driving up 55 north and getting off at the downtown exit was np, and so was the drive by the arch to the landing.

I never play the 5-10 but last night there two tables until past midnight and the last one broke about 5am. They were filled with a lot of regular 1-3 players for some reason - maybe there were Texas fans their before I got there, but I hardly saw any after 11pm.
