The Harrahs' BBJ hit last night. It was closing in on Showboat (155k) so I would assume there will be an increase of business this weekend.

at the boat last night (black polo, white long sleeve undershirt....bitching about Wake Forest losing to GA Tech)

bought in for $300 at 1/2, built up to a little over $700, then bluffed ~$250 away on what I thought was a good move against someone who had the ability to lay one down.....wrong

whatever

then, when a 2/5 game never gets doing, they come sit down at my table. very nice guys, but killed the action.i switch tables brining my $410

just one pot of note at this table, take guy off top pair with my 2nd pair for a little over $100.

the 2/5 game is finally running with 7 seats. i take my $500 and sit in seat 9 and proceed to just get slapped in the the face by the deck. i was due

there was one guy i won some good pots off which were pretty standard, both TPTK vs TPGK

big hand was against asain with 33 flopped set with 5 players to flop for 25 a piece. i bet out, crazian raises. i call and push turn for like $300 (i covered him). he calls, im good, even though flush draw got there. didn't see what he had.

i also flopped quads in a 5 handed raise pot, but not much action.

im not very good at remembering hands. all in call, cashed out for $1540.

first time i'd been at the boat since about sept or oct. always a good time.

great dealers, as always.

side note: i had a very intimate moment at the first 1/2 table with one of the dealer michaels (brown hair and glasses, i have no idea if thats xrodx or someone else) when a player was all in with two other players still to go. on the river he flipped his cards, thinking there was only one player and no action. as soon as he flipped him, i cover em up, as does michael...his hands were very soft, and thats all ill say

Thank goodness that wasnt me...seriously tho nice trip report.

Anyone know how the $180 tourney went last night?

The $180 tournament went very well last night!

73 players, 1st place over $4,600!

Overall great response from the players, only a handful were upset at the increase

Went very well, indeed

I def think the # will increase too because nobody gives out 20k for a daily tourney. When the word gets out we will have at least 100 players again.

Also for those upset at the increase we offer the old 15k tourney like 5-6 times throughout the week

I was at the Boat on Saturday afternoon from 2:30 to 6:30 or so. Room was nicely decorated, and dealers were doing a good job.

One hand of note: at one point, I'm sitting in the 9 seat and raise early position with AKs. SB calls in the 1 seat. Flop comes AA5, SB bets around 45 into a pot of 26, dealer says player is "almost all in." I couldn't see his stack due to our seat positions, but he was all in except for his card protector (a $1 chip). I'm happy that the dealer noticed his single chip behind and didn't declare SB as all-in, in case he was shooting an angle. I go all in and win the pot (SB had pocket 3's).

Not a lot of other notable hands, I cash out for $102 after 4 hours, and hit the House of Blues restaurant with my friend. I get the pulled pork sandwich, he gets the prime rib, both very good.

After dinner my friend and I hit up the Borgata for a change of scenery. I like the Borg, but I need other places to play when I hit up AC, if only for a change of scenery, and the Boat is definitely on my list of rooms to visit now.

When does the PLO Tourney start? and details when u get them!
02-02-2009 , 12:45 PM
If your tourneys had antees I would play the Sat. every week. More chips in the pot makes the game. Gota have something in the middle to go after and antees def. do that.

No antes makes MORE people play...

Antes just force action, not playing
02-02-2009 , 06:21 PM
what's the round structure on the Sat night tournament? Is it still 20 minutes? 20k starting stack sounds great and I gotta get down to play this. Good work.

Yea it stayed at 20 mins, we had written up a tourney with 30 min levels and added levels in there but they didnt run it . Also I posted here and the consensus was to just add ten min to the levels which is still a possibility. I am sure if they tourney grows to a point where we get a lot of players they will add more play to the tourney.
02-02-2009 , 09:57 PM
I think that's a bad assumption. Why change the tournament structure to make it slower if you are getting a lot of players?
