One funny anecdote - we had one guy sit down for about 45 minutes, big guy, shaved arms (?), cute girlfriend... about 10 minutes after his arrival a big pot occurs between two players there for most of the night, a pot size river bet for about $250, one guy is taking quite a while to decide, a minute or two max & new guys calls the clock. $1/$2 clock - this was not popular with the mostly jovial table... outcome unimportant, but let's say it wasn't the last time the clock was called...

anyone heading down this weekend? prob going to stop in early saturday morning for a all dayier.... how would the games be

I will be down next weekend starting Wednesday looking to play most of my games at the boat, mixing between 1/2 and 2/5. I will prob be the young tan kid in some crazy shirt and glasses but never wearing them unless i want to fall asleep between hands.

Depending on when you get there games will vary:

There will always be at least 1 2/4 LHE and 1 1/2 NLHE going, even at 6am...

Around 10am - there should be a couple of each of these going, and possibly a 2/5 NLHE depending on whose in town and whose awake...

By 12noon, several 2/4 & 1/2's, should be a 2/5 going with the 5/5 NL getting ready to go, probably a 3/6 with a list of interest...

By 2pm:
3-4 -2/4 LHE
4-5 -1/2 NLHE
1 - 2/5 NLHE
1 - 5/5 NLHE
1-2 - 3/6 LHE

If there are a lot of 2/5, 5/5 players, the 5/10 NL might get going as well.

by 4 or 5pm if its a busy weekend, they could get a 2/4 or 3/6 PLO game if there is enough interest.

By 6pm - their would be 4-5 of the 2/4; 5-6 of the 1/2, the 5/5 will still be going, possibly 2 of the 2/5 games and a couple 3/6 LHE.

The 2/4 and 3/6 LHE games are what you would expect chase, chase chase....

The 1/2 games are soft with lots of PF calling of 5xBB raises.

the 2/5 and the 5/5 play loose PF but tighten up considerably Post Flop, pots can get large.

Yup i will head down there around noonish.... prob alittle 1 /2 and 2/5 later on in the day.... 5/5 sounds good also but 5/10 never played that high might give it a shot if the BR holds up till the end of the week... whats max buy in for 5/10

The 5/10 can go a couple of ways....

500-1500 min/max, though if everyone is agreeable we have had it go with an 800/2000 min/max.

FYI..the 5/5 is 300-1000

I have tried to get a PLO game going...but people who always say, oh that would be great, I'll be there...never show up....so we get a list of 2 or 3 and that's where it stays....

I'm curious about the $3/6 O8 game. When/how often does it go ?
Is it a nitfest, or similar to the 3/6 HE games there ?
I'm gonna assume there's no kill ?

If it does go I would have to assume it goes after like 7pm and from what I understand it is usually a game full of dealers (this is a great thing) and there is def no kill. But it doesnt go often. The 2/4 O8 game will be going more than a 3/6.

2/4 O8 or 3/6 O8 is mostly a weekend thing....jsut have to go and start list and hope others show up who want to play.

One thing I would suggest is to speak with the floor people running the front podium who are filling up the games and "stay on top of them" about calling out the game to build interest.

I feel the bottom line is however, that while a lot of people talk about wanting to play Omaha, it is a small fraction of the poker players who come to AC...and when push comes to shove if they have to wait, they will sit down at a NL game and then when the Omaha game gets going or gets called, they say, nah I'll stay where I am....

I don't know the answer, expect that my gut tells me, there are not enough people who want to play something besides HE to support the games in AC at more than a couple of casinos...and right now, those casinos seem to be borgata and sometimes the Taj.

I think one thing that we should start doing is calling a "roll call" its hard to do with the size of our room and where the front podium is, but when I was at turning stone they would call a roll call before they called the list down to see if people were still in the room and wanted to play the game. Then they dont have to waste the time with opening a game that isnt going to go.

Seems a bit unrealistic for us tho.

If people are interested in getting a PLO (thinking 1/2 or 2/4 perhaps higher?) game off the ground this weekend - 7/25-7/27 - (or some form of SHOE, HO, etc), please leave a Post here and I will PM those people who respond and try to coordinate it.

I figure we need 7 people total to get the game spread...I am thinking either Latish - 9pm or so on Friday, Anytime on Saturday, or noon-ish on Sunday)

I might play friday night... I will play 1/2 PLO, but could we request a 100 min 500 max, and u can bring it in for $10 pf. I would play PLO8 also. I would prefer PLO8 actually.

Isn't $10 the proper opening Pot bet with 1/2 blinds w/o the need for a special rule? I just see 1/2PL with $10 opener mentioned all the time. Thought the $10 opener was stated with the 1/2PL statement.

Shadow, what I would do is go to the podium when you get there and tell them what you'd like and that you anticipate a few more people and see how they are structured to go...I do know that rooms have specific ways they have to spread the games based on what they have submitted to NJCC...
