Do you have a chart you can share that shows # players paid and percentage of the payout to the players? I think Ballys actually included their payout chart with the tournament structure.

They always pay 10% of the field (rounding down) So 150-159 pays 15. 160-169 pays 16 etc...

Had a great time in the room on Sunday. Won the 11am after hours of trying to get this asian dude to chop a pretty good deal with the final 7. Overall the tournament was run well, dealers seemed pretty competent with some real good ones mixed in. Only complaint is they GOTTA make sure that the tournament timers are visible by the tournament players themselves. This made it a pain the the neck trying to get clock status, next blinds, etc. But the floor was excellent on all instances. Will visit again.

i love the dailys at showboat, havent played it in a while but apparently the weekend ones are even bigger now then the last time i played one over a year ago...my only gripe is that they have no antes...is that still the case? besides that i think they offer better dailys than anywhere in ac

Yes Chris, they don't have ante's. And the Friday and Saturday are getting impressive fields now as they are guaranteed.
12-19-2012 , 01:16 PM
Oh wow, as I said haven't played over there in over a year, what's the guarantee? And is te buy in still $100 on Saturday ?

$5,000. And no, I think they are $65 total.
12-19-2012 , 06:10 PM
Where's information on the interwebz about the ToC
12-19-2012 , 10:59 PM
Tourneys are $65 7 days a week at 11a 2p and 7p. Only Friday and Sat Nights have the $5k guarantee. There's an 11pm every night that I think is $50, but I'm not sure.

I have to ask though, why on Earth is no antes a bad thing?
12-19-2012 , 11:04 PM
Most everyone knows that antes benefit the more agressive players, as a result no antes brings in the casual players. It is a good thing that there are no antes.

As for Golfpro's suggestions of the noodle bar by the pai gow poker, I agree 100%. Not great, but not bad. Just a little pricey for what it is, but it is a casino after all.
Had an interesting experience when I arrived at Earl of Sandwich today. The girl behind the counter was picking up baggies of preportioned meat and sticking her nose in them to get a whiff. Some bags went back in the pile, others were thrown into the trash. Revolted, I turned to walk away and countered two men walking in and told them what I witnessed. Then the girl interrupted to defend herself saying that she was only doing this because she was making a sandwich for herself and it was none of our business. Which means that if she was making a sandwich for one of us the meat that wasn't fresh for her would have been ours to eat. Yum.

I stayed in AC on Thurs/Fri night and checked out The Showboat for the first time in a while and for the most part liked what I saw. Action was good both nights I played 1/2, dealers were good like I remembered. My only complaint is that on Thursday it was like crazy short staffed. The cashier near the poker room was closed all night (at least from 5 pm on). Our table took forever to get a fill, our dealer got so low on chips, that one player who bought in for 200 got 2x black (all that was left) and had to get change from neighbors. And back to the cashier being closed, I left around 100-130am when our table broke and was denied a color up by the floor cuz a fill was coming. I get the fill was coming, but at 130am, like 8 coronas deep and with ~1200 in chips, walking halfway across the casino with 2 racks was not an ideal situation. Its not a major complaint but it for sure wasn't an ideal situation. Maybe it was just an off night because on Friday night things were much smoother, cashier was open, and the floor told my dealer to buy every last chip he can fit, so it made cashing out much easier.

With that being said, I still enjoyed playing there and it seems my return has earned me rooms in AC again so I will definitely be playing there again. I like the showboat poker room and hope the action continues to pick up like it was this past week

Dan,

Couple questions. I put in about 23 hours in December, so i hit the mark for double comps. When will i receieve the extra comp dollars? Also, i believe i am eligible for both drawings in January. How does that work? You randomly draw a person from someone who is currently playing? Thanks in advance for the info.

The 5K guarantee is rebuy? It does not state this on the Showboat AC site?

Are the Friday and Saturday night Tournaments now rebuys?

Both of the guarantee tournaments are re-entry until end of 6th level

Why is this not updated on the Showboat site? After driving a few hours to find out the tournament is a re buy is not a good experience for the customer.
