They are fine, see if you cannot upgrade though. It never hurts to ask.

Can someone let us know all the details on the next freeroll that has been planned. I heard it was 150 hours but missed the amount of time that is being given to achieve it.
Thanks for any help/info on this.

Sorry, was waiting to hear more info on it. I talked with one of the managers who didn't really know too much about it, but he did confirm the 150 hours to qualify, but I think all the details have not been set as of yet. I am going back down this week and will be staying for a few days. I'll get to someone that does know more and will post when I hear (if someone doesn't beat me to it! )

I'll be there tomorrow and Thursday (rewards credit multiplier!!) but I absolutely do not promise to remember to ask about the freeroll

The person I asked was not aware of any planned freeroll, only noting "well, we did one last year, so I guess it could happen..."

That's it. I am claming this thread as my personal domain. No one may post here without getting written permission from me ahead of time.

PM for details.

Dead. On a Monday, the Taj or the Borgata are your best bets.

It should be busier than normal Monday because of the holiday.

There is always enough action during the day, just not a crush. After 3AM there is no action during the winter. Just two tables

Hey all - I've never stayed at Showboat, but I have reservations for valentine's day weekend. I hope to bust a bunch of happy couples in LHE and ruin their relationships.
Anywho, what LHE usually runs at the Showboat? At the Taj? They're connected, right? I've read some threads where people say that the area gets bad at night - do they just mean outside? How is the parking deck? Will I be able to play poker with my girl (who is also coming) in the Taj or Boat at night without having to sprint past a bunch of degens in order to save my roll and her purse? If it were just me I wouldn't be as concerned.

I guess I'm asking for a current state of affairs over at the Showboat. I'll be staying on a weekend, so talk to me about how the action and hotel is then. Thanks

Can anyone tell me how many players are in the 7pm tournies usually?

At Showboat, they will definitely have 2/4 going. I am pretty sure being a busy weekend they will have 3/6 going as well, maybe two tables. At Trump Taj, you will have 2/4, 3/6, (maybe a 5/10 if you get really lucky) and then 10/20, 20/40.

Yes, Showboat and Trump Taj are connected inside. It is also a short walk on the boardwalk if you want some fresh ocean air. Both are safe options at any time. You will be fine as long as you are not flashing your roll around like a moron. I would not recommend going out into the city at night. If you have to go to somewhere outside the casinos and off the boardwalk, take a taxi.

If you have to go to the parking garage at night, just be careful and watch your surroundings. This is with any parking garage at night, just not at Trump Taj or in Atlantic City.

On average 70-90. Sometimes it can be less on non-peak weeknights, more on a holiday weekend.

Just to say I think Showboat has the best Tea of any poker room in Atlantic City.

What was once a very lively thread has been dead since the horrible incident those of us who survived refer to only in hushed whispers as THE BANNING OF THE DEALERS.

I doubt that....2+2 would 100% approve a Showboat employee to be the official room spokesman. The Borgata and Venetian have one. Not coincidentally, they are the "people’s choice" as the best rooms in Vegas and AC respectively

Borgata now has their live game reports on their site so they won't (or rarely will) be in the Borgata thread anymore. Still, I doubt a day will go by where the thread doesn't get 5+ posts....let alone none in 3 weeks.

I loved the Showboat. That and the Taj were my first rooms. I had my first live tourney cash there (a 3rd place in the Sunday 11am tourney in 2005). I also enjoyed their cash games but they have def fallen off.

I stictly play at the Borgata these days cause I KNOW there will be a bunch of good games to chose from. That being said, I'd love to give the Showboat some business....I'm just affraid of going and seeing two 1-2 games, no 2-5 games and feeling like I've wasted my time.

Again, I have no complaints at all about the place...I'm just affraid of wasting time to go check out a dead room. If business picked up and I'd have a choice of 3+ 2/5 games and PLO, I'd def check the place out....in a heartbeat

Doubt all you like. This thread contains a record of events proving me right. Feel free to peruse earlier pages for confirmation... or don't.

Then get approval to start back up....obv the room doesn't see that as a necessary option.

The thread might be dead because the dealers can't promote....the room is dead for other reasons.
