SO let me get this straight.... Stan (who is awesome) can still promote his room by letting us know what games are running (AS HE SHOULD) but the showboat dealers are banned.

Seems like a double standard... I have lots of thoughts on this idea... but for now let me say this to the people who run this site.

Don't forget how far we've come as poker lovers/players. A warning would have been nice... I beleive borgata advertises on this site (i might be wrong). But once again in the whole scheme of things POKER is being promoted. I've played at the boat enuff to realize when there are 5 tables going at 7 PM i don't think the dealers make any bit of difference in promoting the room and UNDERSTAND this the only reason i found this site waqs because of a SHOWBOAT dealer... that means increased hits and more $ in YOUR pocket two plus two . You should thank the dealers you banned. And if you looked at this with intelligence from outside the box you'd understand the same. This is what happens when you fall in love with yourself.

The runners of this site should be ashamed of themselves for the egotistical post made ripping dealers who are too young to know better. I have enjoyed the threads and made posts that are few and far between.

SO what i've learned is that we have more ego maniacal people who think they know it all.

In the long run you have to enjoy booms while they last... they will not go on forever

tmac

typed fast.. without spell check i apologize if there are any problems gramatically

while i feel your frustration, the difference is that stan was given permission to pimp his room ahead of time, and the boat dealers werent (not that i even agree that they were promoting the room.)

you do see the difference already in this thread. seems like its slowly dying, especially when you get one of the main/most helpful contributors (rod) posting things like lol gl because he doesnt know what he is and isnt allowed to post anymore.

i hope that mike and joel get reinstated sometime in the near future and everyone can agee on what can and cannot be said in here.

Howdy all. I finally got around to creating an account and decided to make my first post in this thread because the Showboat is my casino of choice. I've followed this thread for awhile and was happy to see that dealers post here, since the they are the reason I enjoy the room as much as I do. I just wanted to say kudos to the dealers and the floor for running a good floor this weekend, a welcome break from the hectic weeks of before. I'm the quiet kid in the "No Problem" hat, if anyone has seen me before.

This is not correct. Stan's forum posts are independent of the advertising agreement and TT said his post history is being reviewed and a decision will be made on his status. That was a while ago, though, and I don't know if a final decision was made, and if so, what the outcome was.

This, this and this. Although, at this point, I doubt they'd come back anyway. But, you may have spoken to them more recently than me, so I hope I'm wrong.

well i know before TT mentioned that poker managers and other management type people usually have permission to post those types of posts. as for stan specificially, im not sure.

i have not spoken to any of the dealers since the bannings.

I have to agree about the thread being very slow. I have actually notice that the B&M activity has been down a little lately. I am usually on here when nothing else is going on, scanning for Atlantic City posts where I can answer questions, provide assistance, etc. I have not been doing that as much these last two weeks.

I think the thread is slow because the room is slow, or maybe that is just a coincidence. I went and played in the tourney tonight, which didnt go so well for me. Upon busting out I looked at the cash game action and there was about 7 tables going, bbjp only $21,000.

Its going to be a long time before that room is full again.

Room was never really full to begin with - just got that way for the bad beat jackpot. However, it is definitely crazy slow now.

RIP showboat thread.

That's great I'm going there next week. Oh well I'm sure there will still be some 1/2 running.

How far is the showboat from other stuff in AC. I've never stayed there. What is the best closest place to play poker if the room at showboat is slow/sucks.
07-28-2009 , 11:59 AM
when i went this past saturday night at around midnight there were only liek 5 tables running.

Depends on what limits you play. As previously stated, taj is right next door and regularly spreads limits from 2/4-20/40. If you play nl, 1/2, and 2/5. The borgata is 5 min away by car and spreads all those and alot higher stakes both limit and no limit.

Does the showboat offer reduced or free parking if you are a Total Rewards member? Whatever the bottom tier one is?
07-29-2009 , 10:50 PM
Onesoul,

If you have the Total Rewards Gold Card you can get free parking as long as you play poker for a little while. You need to earn 25 Rewards Credits to get free parking. At 1-2 NL, that would be the equivalent of 15 minutes of poker. If you swipe your card at the Total Rewards Kiosk, a "Self Park" button will appear that you can press. It prints out a voucher. If you take that voucher to the Cashier cage, they'll give you whatever you paid to park.

I've heard that if you ask for a voucher at the poker room that they will give it to you, since it takes a while for poker play to register in the Total Rewards system (especially at the Showboat).

Last time I was there I played for about 5 hours and checked the kiosk for my free parking coupon and it wasn't there. It takes a day or two for Harrahs comp system to update you with poker play I think. I suppose I will try asking the poker room next time.

played Monday & Tuesday night - room was slow, but there were seats, and at least 2 or 3 - 1/2 tables still running full at 4A + a few limit tables.

BBJ was $22Kish

ask at the podium before you leave for a parking comp - just bring your receipt in when you go - you pay on the way in at the boat.
07-30-2009 , 01:42 AM
As wpr noted, be sure to bring your receipt to the Cashier's cage. If you only bring the voucher without the receipt, you won't get the money for the parking.
