Wow, just looked, it's 12:40am, on a Thursday, there's 21 tables open, and over 100 on the waitlist for all the games combined (20+ for 1/2 and 1/3) crazy. Degens gonna Degen I guess....

Wonder how the games are.

I was about to book a flight then I saw this message on the casino's website:

"If you will be arriving from the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or Louisiana, we must advise that you are required to isolate or self-quarantine for 14 days from the time of your arrival in Florida, according to the Florida Governor's Executive Order number 20-82, which is currently in effect until July 8, 2020 and, as a result of Executive Order number 20-82, you will be unable to occupy a room at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa if you are arriving from those states."

I live in New York. My friend is driving down tomorrow from PA. Does this pertain to most hotels in the area? I also would hate to be held at the airport for a 14 day quarantine. Will they let me in the casino with a NY I.D. if I stay somewhere else?

You may have a problem finding a place to stay, you will NOT be held at the airport LOL

If you are coming only for poker - just stay home, in case you haven't heard there is pandemic.

Poker will still be hear when C-19 passes

Plus spending thousands to travel and play low stakes is beyond stupid. 2/5 games here to begin with are mediocre at best, gonna be even worse 6handed and less. If your game was 1/2 and your going there where I believe the minimum is still $60 then I mean ... o_0 Wot mate?

as we all know 1000s of professional poker players in the USA are making $1000-1500 a week in the $1-2 NL games across florida, i did when i was there because winning there was a little bit easier than in some of the states i played. made a little more than some states. only fools think playing 2-5 is needed unless theyre in a state like california where 40k a year isnt way above average.

the bigger question is are they demanding ID from everyone to check for your address before u come inside? i heard daytona beach and orange city racing are for tracking purposes. good luck if u are from one of the 4 banned states

I don’t think we all know that.

I don’t dispute in any way the assertion that there are players with that level of winnings in the $1-2 game, but...

If you play 40 hours a week, $1000 is a win rate of $25 an hour (12.5 bb)...not unattainable, but difficult to maintain on a consistent basis, and since peak traffic in Florida (say a Friday night) there *might* be 200 1-2 games going statewide, that would still require at least 5 players per table to be winning at that rate.

If the games are currently 6 max, that’s going to require some mighty big fish with very deep pockets!

TBC, you were 100% right. I just spoke with security. They're checking everyone's ID prior to entering and they're not letting anyone onto the casino floor from "up north". The desk officer I spoke with couldn't confirm what states are banned, just kept saying "anyone from up north won't be allowed in".

It's a good thing I called bc I asked that same question to the general operator and she said it's ok to gamble, just can't book a room. Thanks, TBC good thing I called also just wondering what was the outcome of your stimulus check did you win or lose it on bj hope you won buddy ur the man!!

Didn't you have some sort of issue with your ID or did you get that fixed?

mine is from louisiana and it expired in march. Lousiana is one of the quarantine states in florida and the other 3 were from states close to NYC. so even if the DMV reopened in LA and i had a Louisiana motel address to have a new one mailed to, instead of a TX address, at least one casino in FL is no longer accepting louisiana IDs. i wonder when casinos in FL will operate normally other states arent asking for IDs and i dont think all the rooms in FL are either.

So ... let's say you are from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware or Maryland? Is that also considered "up north"?? Or can people from those states play and stay at Hard Rock?

It affects everyone from NY, NJ, CT, and LA.

https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/travelers/

Anyone entering FL from those states must self quarantine for 14 days.

Conceivably you could (legally) play after that, but it sounds like some casinos themselves won't let you in anyway, at least for now. Maybe it will be different in 14 days.

As an on again ,off again pro between jobs/ business operator,
I have kept charts ( 20 years ) on hourly win rate at 1/2.

My best stretch was a 6 month win rate of $27 an hour in AC about 10 years ago,

And that was with a $4 rake and $1 jackpot drop,

With this $5 + 2 drop, Anything higher than $15.,
I don't believe

I just played there with a CT ID and nobody asked for it. They're not checking it upon entry to the casino or the poker room or at the table. I had just moved to Tampa before the pandemic, so I needed a Seminole player's card, and when I showed the lady she didn't bat an eye at my Connecticut license.

Not to have a pissing contest, but my hourly rate at 1/2 at the Hard Rock is well over $15 an hour, and only had one month in the last 3 years it wasn't over $15. Not a full time player by any means, but it's definitely obtainable, even still these days. Play ABC poker, with a few plays mixed in and don't stay at nitty tables, esp on weekends and all your $15+ an hour dreams can come true once again. lol

when i said $1000 a week i meant 56 hours a week (8 hours a day 7 days a week) which makes obtaining $1000 easier since its not as much per hour. and i think the ID is being inconsistently enforced. if u call security on the phone u get a different answer, and some people arent being asked. unless they are changing their policy day to day, which is possible. and also, the drop is greatly reduced right now. i heard its $3 plus 1.

I agree, $15 is attainable, maybe more if you select games.
My point is, and always has been, is what we are playing against...
I am a number cruncher, I will put the numbers down ( facts ), you tell me where I am wrong

Assuming 30 hands per hour, (ok,may be 27 or 32 ),
30 hands X 7 (5+2 ) = 210 an hour coming off table...

10 handed, means YOU are paying $21 an hour to sit in that chair....

9 handed about $23

8 handed, about $26

7 handed, $30

6 handed, $35

I like 6 handed, very fast, more aggression,
Bottom line is it costs you more per hour to play

And that's without the tip,
Another average $1,
That makes $240 vs 210
