What merits the "Stay away from this game!" note?

look at the buyin structure...rake is pretty much unbeatable if you don't get insanely lucky on coin flips several times.

The game more closely resembles bingo than poker. You wait until you have a premium hand, shove your chips in the middle, get four callers, and hold on to the seat of your pants.

I'd take my chances at bingo, TBH

I like your spread sheet. One mistake, at Morongo any action takes 2+1. A raise or call before the BB they take 2+1. For example someone open raises on the button in the 1/3 game and everyone folds they win a dollar.

the 20/40 palomar mix got off smoothly today, 5handed from 2pm'ish until 2am! was a wide array of games in the mix with all the limit draw games, stud8, o8, PLO, and NL 2-7

expect it to be a regular thing on sundays that aren't big tournament days (which are first sunday of every month)

Was at O11 the other night (sat) and saw an interest list for 1/1 PLO, this was in addition to the standard 1/2 PLO that runs Fridays and sometimes sat. Anyone got any info on the 1/1?

Ocean's 11 will be starting a new PLO game tonight (08/19/11), starting at approximately 4pm.

Structure:

Blinds: $1-$1
Bring in (call): $1
First pot raise (with no previous call): $4

Buy-in: $40-$100
Rake: $4
Jackpot: None

Additional notes:

Multiple boards allowed! Running multiple boards is allowed as long as it is unanimous with all participating players in the hand at that time. If any participating player refuses, only one board will be dealt.

Game will run in the tournament room, dealers will be trained and ready, and table(s) will be reserved.

Food will be complimentary!

I plan on attending today for the PLO at O-11, I will definitely sit in one of the games, either the 1-1 or 1-2 game. I know of at least 7 others that are coming up for the 1-1 game, looks like for sure there will be one table maybe 2 going around dinner time. Hopefully, we can get this 1-1 game going on a daily basis.

I have zero vested interest in this, or any competitor, just feel the need to point out that rake is kinda absurd, no?

Any chance of getting a higher stakes nl holdem game running in the san diego area, especially if at ocean's 11? (25-50 nl or higher)

the 10-20nl at O11 often plays as 10-20-40nl with several people sitting with $15-20k+.

Are the lights back on yet? I played a little at Pala last night. Kind of uncomfortable without AC after a while. Lights out, restaurants closed, but all the slots had power!

Next week i will be in San Diego for one night. Never been there before. I am not there to play poker, but I was thinking I might go and check out a poker room to see what the scene is like .... I might even play a little low limit or small buy in No limit.

If I do decide to check out a room on Friday night ... which room should I go to. I don't really care about the games as much as the environment.

Sorry - I should have also asked when you say "environment" - what do you mean? Typical cardroom? Full blown casino? We have them both around here, but they are way way different in the way the experience you'll get. Also - do you have a car?
