You will almost never find 8/16 or higher running during the day, except for maybe on weekends where there is a big tournament. FWIW, even 6/12 rarely takes off anytime before Friday night.

Most nights a 5-60 spread seems to start up, but again never before 6. If you want 8/16 or bigger, Canterbury will have it almost all the time.

Can someone else confirm this? Sounds like the cardroom is essentially empty during the day. That's surprising given the 5 dollar per hour promo.

2-60 is always running. Smaller limit games usually are too AFAIK. I don't get in until the evening though when the 5-60 starts, which runs almost every night.

8/16 ran for an hour or 2 a few weeks back, but it's rare. Spread limit is the game at RA for the most part.

wow. so i was pretty disapointed when i went out there last night. seemed pretty dead compared to CP for a weeknight. expected there to be more tables going during the $5/hr promotion. does anybody know if weekends get any busier? and also fishier since the monday-thursday regs. may not be there? i want to start playing more frequent, and since i refuse to play limit my choices are spread limit or the "survival" games at CP which i hate waiting for. thanks

I'm planning on hitting up Running Aces tomorrow for the Father's Day Tourney. How many players should I expect to be up there?

Thanks

Played here last night while I'm in the Twin Cities. It was pretty nice atmosphere and super soft play.

any ideas of how many tables of 2-60 or 5-60 spread run from Mon-Thurs. evenings? i went out there last Saturday and i believe they had 5-6 tables running. then i went the next evening(fathers day) and the place was dead empty for cash games. only 6 cash games running and only 2 2-60 games going so i didnt play. i have to imagine the place is more busy during the 5/hr promo? my table was real juicy on sat. night so i will be there again soon either way. thanks for any info.

Yeah I was there on Father's Day as well, played 2-60 for an hour before the $125 tourney, I got a feeling I'm taking a month off because I'm running so bad and I'm card DEAD.

$50 min - $200 max. Yes the 2-60 games go all the time - obviously more selection at night.

Unfortunately, RA is closed right now due to the state budget shutdown. We are all being held hostage by the Governor of Minnesota until further notice.

to govern there has to be compromise. there can not just be one side willing to give.

its totally ridiculous.

It is Gov Dayton who personally keeps blocking all of the legal challenges that CP and RA have made to stay open/re-open. They are both totally self sufficient entities that pay all of the MRC fees. He is simply sticking the knife in a little deeper and twisting it... There are 1,700 non-state employees out of work because of this JO.

I've only ever seen 4/8 o8 at Running aces.
Canterbury has a 6/12 o8 half-kill pretty often

I've seen 2/60 omaha hi going once, but I only play about once a month. Unlike CP, RA will spread about any game and limit allowed by the rules. Earlier this year there was a promotion where quads were paid bonuses. As quads are much easier to hit in Omaha than HE, multiple games of 4/8 O8 and 4/8 O-high were going. I never hit a bonus, but it was fun to play non HE games.

If you want to play Omaha high, stud/8, HOE, etc., they are willing to spread em, but you need to recruit other players. Friday nights might be best, as there are usually a few regulars around longing for pre HE days.

BTW, if you have been following the politics, a good guess at a settlement and resumption of cards is late August, as the required parties aren't working very hard, to say the least.
