This is true. My first thought was just bums who know nothing, but there are a lot of business men who know nothing as well.

Heh. Well, I did play Friday night. And Saturday night. And Sunday afternoon. The place was packed all weekend. And for part of Saturday they had two 5/60 games running. One of them apparently ran all night, some of the same players were in the same seats when I came back Sunday afteroon. Lots of table talk about the March promotions at RA. 6/12 ran over this weekend even before the $5/hr has kicked in. Maybe I just ran well, but it seems that the overall quality of play has dropped as more non-regs have been playing.

I don't know what the RA JP deal is ?

As for the new CP JP, yes it sucks and its $100K number is deceptive, but I did have the thought that since I don't really play for the JP (maybe cause I'm 0 for 6 years) that if it pulls JP chasers in the door, then its probably a good thing.

Just weird how they try to pass the most BS math false adverrtisement past a group that has a high percentage of people skilled in math. I work in science and HR tries that crap as well.

Pretty common experience, no? I have been known to grind RA or CP for 20-24 hours when the tables keep filling with dead money.

Think it depends on when you go? I have seen days when the table (from my POV) is full of skilled players but other days I wonder if people just saw pokaz on ESPN last night and decided that it looks easy and they would come down and play. But then again, I have slowly been moving towards RA from CP so the play might just be getting worse because I am ezmonies! Overall, I still prolly prefer CP but the juicy 5/60 games are hard to pass up!

For 2/60, yes but, at least until recently, the 5/60 game has been a bit spotty there. It does seem to be becoming more regular lately though. Not sure if I'd ever seen two tables of it running simultaneously although that might well have happened when I wasn't there. But the 5/60 is a bigger game than my bankroll could manage on a regular basis. Might take a few shots at it this spring?

The mid limit games were great last night at RA.
Three 6/12 and Two 8/16 were going in prime time and this was just the first night of the March weekend (F-Su) promotion.

It's crazy when you consider the $10/20 coupon you get from the mailer and the $5 an hour you get, if you plan to play a long session, you're already up like $40/50 before you even start and then you get the chance for an entire rack ($200) of yellow chips when you get your aces cracked.

East and North side LHE holdem players should defintitely be playing at RA or you are giving away free money!

I've got in about 13 hours during this "Aces Cracked Win A Rack," and I haven't seen aces yet lol... Nice to have those games running, and it's hard not to play with the combo of aces cracked/ 5per hr/progressive board. I can't believe how many people are still playing 2-60 instead, really.

Lots of Canterbury regs playing today...

I had aces an amazing 5 times in my 8hr session at 6/12 last night and had them cracked only once. At least I did win some big pots after playing the aces very passively in multiway pots but when the flop comes 9,J,Q with two clubs against 4 other players you expect to get them cracked.

6/12 was pretty good last night but the short 6 hour session I was able to put in. Seemed pretty soft imo. Had Aces cracked once!

Yea I am from Saint Cloud so RA is quite a bit closer me. As long as RA can keep spreading the 6/12 8/16 games, they are going to get a good draw from the Northern cities/burbs limit players

How many 6/12 and 8/16 LHE games did RA have going during "prime time" on Sat night?

Three 6/12's and one 8/16.

I played the 6/12 for a few hours yesterday afternoon (had my aces cracked the only time I got them). There were three tables of 6/12 running when I got there and a list for 8/16 (they did get one 8/16 table running a bit after I started). My table was mostly 8- or 9-handed but at one point we were 5-handed for about 20 minutes. That little short-handed bit was juicy.

We should try and arrange some kind of 2 + 2 meeting at RA and play at the same table..

Yes, it would defeat the purpose of pounding away at the easy fish that are already there, but it might be fun.

I'd play. Gone the next couple of weekends though... And I'm poor so the that may or may not affect my ability to play .

Yoshii, it almost sounds like you think that 2p2 members and easy fish are inherently contradictory things with no overlap.

haha well not trying to say that necessarily. I just know that we all look for the most fishy times, and the most fishy games to maximize our $$$. With that in mind, the average 2 + 2er has got to be better then the average casual poker player off the street, even if there is some mix and match.

Something I just noticed: on the promotion page for RA's web site, the $5/hr Fri-Sun for 6/12 and 8/16 specifically mentions that it's for March but the Mon-Thur $5/hr for everyone does not specifically mention March (and the "more details" PDF is still the old one for February). Maybe they're planning on extending one or both into April???

Are they still raking the 6/12 and 8/16 games at 10% or did they finally reduce it to 5% with the same cap?

I really hope they get these mid limit 6/12 and 8/16 hold em games going every weekend moving forward. They tried the 2/10 and 4/20 spread games but they were just overtaken by the 2/60 which still continues to grow. They have always had many 2/4, 3/6, and sometimes 4/8 LHE games so the natural progression for fixed limit players is to 6/12 and then 8/16 not 2/10 or 4/20. They will still have the 2/60 and 5/60 spread for those who want that.
The weekend promotion now is unbelievable and I plan to be there at least once a weekend just because of it.
