The 4/8 O8 last night was doing quite well last night - I was there for a couple hours, getting a seat immediately in a "must move" game. I had not seen a second table for 4/8 O8 at either Running Aces or Canterbury in years.

One player I saw at the main-game table was a player from a time when I won a table share of a $10k BBJ at Canterbury in 2001; he won the major share of that jackpot.

No way how did that happen? Is it a ton of Canterbury players. Because i was there last night played my usually 2-60 but they had a 3-6kill that had been running since before i got there at 8 and i left at 6 am and they were still goin strong. It had 2 cp dealers the player whos board name is stuck a buck. Also tournament DAN. If you don't know who that is be happy. The guy is one of the most annoying players i have ever seen. He feels like evryone cares to hear bout his stories of what happened when he plays or in the tournament. Like don't get me wrong the guy is nice but just shut up

They are extending it again, but just for 6/12 and 8/16 players?

I think someone has asked this, but I dont remember seeing an answer...

OK, let me clarify. All current promos will still be in effect for March, but we are adding a new one for 6/12 and 8/16 players. Whenever you are playing these games you will always earn $5 per hour on your Aces card.

On Fri, Sat and Sun when playing 6/12 or 8/16 if you have your "aces cracked" you will win a rack ($200).

There are no comps at RA - it is straight $$$ back on your card. Hope this clarifies things.

Thanks for the clarification, what sorts of things can '$$$ on your card' purchase?
food/drink I assume
chips?
cash?

It is straight cash back. Play for 1 hour = $5 Cash on your card. Take your card to poker podium and show us ID and we print you a voucher. Take that voucher to cashier and get chips or cash - its that simple.

Haven't seen near enough talk about the MSPT at RA this weekend. This is a can't miss tourney guys. Best structure in the state, 15k starting stack, 50 min. blinds. Last years tourney was the longest poker tournament in state history, something like 25 hours. Bryan and Pmac have done a great job with this and they are expecting over 200 players. 1st should be in the neighborhood of 55-60k. Who else will be playing?

50 minute blinds is a little ridiculous.

Real tournaments that allow you to outplay opponents and don't turn into a shovefest before the 2nd break are ridiculous? If you meant they're too short, disregard my inquiry.

I guess its fine, just never played in a tournament with that long of blind levels.

Jesus, is this 6/12 promo for real? I haven't played limit in a few months and almost always put my name on the list, but if it's running then damn, I'm in. Not sure I understand why this promo is running...card room is full enough with RA filling the 2-60SL niche.

The 6/12 and 8/16 LHE special ($5 per hour and Aces cracked wins a rack) doesnt start until March 1st but they are already starting to get these games going. There has been a 6/12 going the last 3 nights at least. RA's givebacks and comps to their players are way above what Canterbury is doing or has ever done. Competition is a great thing for us poker consumers. Hopefully with this new promotion, North and East side LHE players will flock to RA.

The cash games were off the hook at RA on Friday night with the MN poker tour in town. I believe they had 8 2/60 games going and a completely packed room. I hope to make it back up there today.

201 entrants. More people in the building than I've ever seen there but I haven't been there all that often.

Was anyone up there at RA today?
Was it still busy with the MSPT wrapping up?
Did they get a 6/12 LHE running again?
I think Sundays become a lot less busy up there once football splash pots end.

For what it's worth, vague talk about a possible "high-end" resort downtown at Block E:

Ah, I miss the old Rifle Sport and Shinder's...

ahh well even though its a long shot, who knows if there would be any poker if it does happen.

But thinking about how sooooo many fish coming off the streets of downtown who dont have bankrolls would play...gets me a little gitty.

Some businessmen were talking about this today if poker came they would play. These are the type of people you want to play, they got money and don't play poker regularly. Much better than the hobo off the street dropping a whole $20 and leaving.

Funny but true. When I used to play 2/4 LHE on a semi-regular basis, I'd see this all the time. Not so much as drop-ins blowing $20 (well, you pretty much have to drive to CB so you'll probably stay for longer than how long it takes to blow through a Jackson). But, wow, there are a lot of people who will buy in for the minimum 5BB, lose it, re-buy for 5BB, lose it, wash, rinse, repeat, again and again and again. Weird.

BTW, 99% chance I'll be at RA Friday night. If you see a tall middle-aged guy wearing a Twins shirt and playing like a donkey, it might be me.
