I was there last week overnight - there was one 2/4, one 3/6, no 4/8, maybe one yellow chip game, and two 15/30's - (one was 4 handed, but still - it was like WTF) -

Not really for me as RA wins hands down but this can only be good for Twin Cities poker players.
if I had a convertible I'd make many runs up to RA as they stole my favorite hottie Bridget - LOL - but seriously, it's like 20 min. to Canterbury and almost a full hr to RA from where I live - so I would definately need a convertible - RB

Economy class car after taxes comes to alittle over 300$. I can not beleive it either. There are other locations downtown that have much better rates and there is the light rail and all but being compleatly unfamialar with Minneapolis i really can't work out the logistics of how to get this done. I have a little less then two weeks to figure this out so will see what happens.

Decent turnout of around 100 usually.
This is my favorite of the cheap ($75 and under) RA NL tourneys because you get 5000 chips which does give you time to play some poker before it's all in's every hand.

I will be there tonight for 2/10 or 2/60 spread!

I played it this morning (it's a freeze-out and I busted out after about an hour). Just before the start of the first break (the last time you can buy in) there had been 88 enties. Played a little 3/6 after that and won enough to almost pay for the tourney I busted out of.

Also played in last night's 6:30 event so was there while the Trent Tucker satellite got going at 7:30. They started the satelitte with only 7 or 8 players (1 seat for every 15 who enter) but did eventually get a second table going. There was a guy who was playing in both tournaments at the same time, playing a few hands in one, then hustling over to his other table to play a few hands in the other. Dude, you're not online.

I was at CP the other night playing 4-8 and the dealers made me get up from the table when I adjusted my playlist and songs on my iPhone. I thought that was pretty ridiculous. The idea was that it's a new rule cuz they so paranoid about texting - so if you're listening to music on the iphone and you adjust your song you have to get up from the table period (even to look at the clock - lol) - even if you're not in a hand - is this standard play at RA? Seems kinda over the top if you ask me...
It's a communication device. It obviously could be used for cheating. It's not practical to have someone confirm what you're doing every time, so I think they came up with the best policy possible. In any gambling operation, it's not just important that there be no cheating--you have to avoid the appearance that there's any cheating going on, too.

I played the 2500 added $65 rebuy this morning and made the final table after being shortstacked the entire tourney. At the final table we agreed to an equal 8 way chop, $1125 per person. A good deal for me since I had a little less than 10% of the chips, or 4.5 bb's.

i am in the south metro so i usually head to Canterbury, but i think both rooms are great and enjoy playing at either when i can.

Thanks for your help
Got a entry to last years tourny, it was fun, but never found what the pay out was. The room was a little small and it started late thanks to MJ. But great food, for those who do not want to play, last year, they charged $50 to watch the tourney and eat from the buffet, good food. I got down to the final 4 tables and lost with JJ to AA.

When the tournament director mentioned the Trent Tucker tournament, $10K was the number but I don't know whether that referred to first place or the prize pool.

We could have been at the same table...I joined the 3/6 game at around 3 PM. I look like I'm 16, I badly need a haircut, and was wearing a scarf.

Omaha 8 Limit Tourney tomorrow (7/23) night at 6:30PM
I will be there and implore all omaha players to show up and support this.

I also wanted to make a suggestion to RA management whom I know check this thread and have shown they listen to their players.
Please consider adding at least one Limit Holdem tourney next month.
You already have more that enough NL Holdem tourneys and MN is known for it's limit holdem players so I think this could be very popular.

FYP

I'll be there even though holdem is 99% of the poker that I play. Gotta break out of that rut somehow. And FWIW, I'm finally getting around to learning some 7-stud too.

Wouldn't it be nice if the 4/8 H.O.E. game there ran more than sporadically? Maybe 2p2 folks can nudge it in that direction by signing up on the kiosks for H.O.E. interest each time they play at RA. Even if the game might not get started on that particular day, seeing it up on the board might plant a seed in some people's minds.

I will probably be up there to play the O8 tourney tonight, then I'm off to Iowa on Friday to play at Diamond Jo's all weekend.

I'll be up at aces tonight. Will probably be playing 3/6 LHE as my buddy whos back from Iraq doesn't play 20/40. Might consider playing the o/8 tourney but we'll see. I'll start a list for a H.O.E. game when i get there if any of you all would be interested in playing. My board name is Brad P.

Also as an fyi for those of you who care about the going ons at canterbury, they just upped their comps there. 1$/hr all games 8/16 and lower. For 15/30 and 30/60 comps are now at 1.50 per hour. The 30 game is alive and kicking once again. Since last tuesday (7/14) there has been a full 30/60 game everyday except for last wednesday i believe. Yesterday there was actually a must move 30/60 game. The 15 game has been going at the same time for the most part as well. Not sure if the 30game going again has effected the 20 game at aces but it'll be interesting to see what happens.

I won't be able to make the O8 tourney tonight now, fiance is coming back home and have to "spend time" with her tonight before I leave to Iowa for the weekend to gamble! Hopefully there will be some Omaha in August before I move to the western burbs at the end of the month.

Maybe he has neck tells. I always wear a zip up jacket when I play live, but I've been doing that for years because I don't like to give off anything if I can help it.

If we make the game like 4/8 Limit H.O.S. (Holdem, Omaha8, Regular Stud) after the tourney tonight I will play

They had a 2-60 plo game going all night last night...I heard it was pretty crazy...dude with 1 suit in his hand capping going for the "flush" or capping when he had a set thinking he had a boat.

Apparently he didnt know you had to use 2 cards....dont know why I didnt join the game...although I'm not that good at plo either...lol
