Heard them promoting the next tournament series over the weekend but forgot to grab a flyer. I think they were calling it the "Pittsburgh Open". If someone could post the schedule I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I was there Saturday and picked this up. Of course consider it the "unofficial schedule".

50 ppl for the ME? Think this will go over?

Wonder how many entrants they think for the events? I know the room isn't huge but could be some nice turnouts.

Sorry to get off the topic off the big event, but I was wondering about the Deep Stack on Saturday. What's been the turnout for the last couple, and how late do they run if you make it to the end? Trying to figure out if it's better to take a shot in the tourney or just play cash.

Played in a few of them, the lowest turnout i've seen is like 45 people with some over 100 players. Haven't made it to very end as of yet, but it goes to usually like 10 or 11 pm. Pretty sick structure for the buyin

Agreed, the structure is super slow and really gives you time to play. I'm not sure how fast it ramps up after the dinner break or whatever, since I had a brain-fart/mental lapse and was busted shortly into the 7th level, but from what I got to see it was really nicely structured and handled. 61 entries today, 7 places paid.

There's still alot of play after the dinner break. Went to dinner with about 145K in chips and 16 players left of course I had 250K with about 22 players left and got involved in 2 pots 1 kind of a cooler the other a big combo draw that didn't get there, should have really just shut it down until final table, but I mis played my stack live and learn i guess. Got to the final table with 127K and blinds being 5-10K this was the first time all night that I felt "in danger" and as though I needed to make something happen. Went out 10th a couple weeks ago.

With Day 2 of the ME running on the 6th, will there be any other tournys running or just cash games on the side? My Saturday portion of my trip got scraped, so it's just all day Sunday for me before kickoff.

i think they had around ~80 runners tonight, maybe more. I wasn't really paying all that much attention, but there was a good 9 tables going from the start.

During my visit there on Friday....I noticed a dealer rake $1 without a flop. I asked him about it and he says as far as he knows it has always been that way.

The pot has to be $10 pre flop for a rake to be taken.

so in a 1/3 game.... sb=$1 bb=$3 limper = $3....raiser makes it $12 to go and everyone folds and the pot is raked $1.

(1+3+3+3=$10) +9 raise

Also....

Can anyone shed some light on the comps for poker players?

How much?
do they expire?
any other info?

Thanks

I didn't play in it, but they wound up with 84 for the $550 last friday. Very Impressive turnout considering the $225's have only been getting like 50-75 players lately.

I thought I heard that the Rivers is going to have a Toys for Tots Poker Tournament. I can't find anything on the website about it. Does anyone know any details about it?

Does anyone play in the noon or evening tournaments? With a buy in ranging of like 35 to 70 and then 10+5 extra going to the house not the prize pool it seems like these would be almost unbeatable in the long run? I'm asking because I enjoy tournaments but these seem a bit too steep in terms of cut/rake.
