Frommagio, if that's the case you might really enjoy some places in Shadyside, Squirrel Hill and Bloomfield. There are some really laid back enjoyable places in those areas of the city. Regent Square has a place that has the best beer selection in the city if you're a beer snob. I literally mean a thousand craft brew, micro brew, import, etc. Just something to consider that wasn't mentioned.

You can have a TAG image and still have those hands in your range of a straddle defense.

TAG describes the overall game...not a players particular style.
TA describes the players particular style.

For example...you can be LA (loose aggressive) in a TAG.

Players are either TA, TP, LA, or LP.
Games are either TAG, TPG, LAG, or LPG.

For sure, I do enjoy those areas. Bloomfield in particular has some undiscovered gems, including some great restaurants.

My suggestions were all for places that he could walk to, or very short drives away. I'd hate to suggest places that could lead to drinking plus longer drives.

No official date far as I could tell last night. They are approved as of now and will start when ever the ducks are in a row.

Hope Matt gets the TD!

Word of advice to the crew -- put the tourneys on the Rivers website, Twitter, etc., along with the structure. Makes things go much smoother and will increase traffic.

games will run all night but usually only a couple 1/3s maybe a 4/8. the 2/5 game usually gets going mid afternoon and runs until 4-8 AM daily.

from a personal standpoint i like the cards as the betting line rule- it prevents people from angleshooting their card placement and makes it easier for you to see everyone still live in the hand. at the same time from the overall perspective the no betting line is atrocious and causes way too much confusion among the fish. and everyone knows a confused fish might start playing TA or LA instead of TP or LP and then the games would become TPG instead of LPG, which nobody wants.

a floor guy told me friday for tourneys as well when i was up saturday, but i've been told that 3 or 4 times so i'll believe it when i see it.

i'll be up at 2/5 tomorrow needling paul and bluffing off stacks vs. herbs KK+ 3bet range

also anyone know if 279 is still blocked off after the ft pitt bridge?

I stopped by the Rivers this afternoon. Asked the floor at the poker room (forgot his name...maybe Stan?) about tourneys. He said they start Thursday, noon and 7PM. Noon will be $65, 7PM $100 buyin (plus dealer add on). No tournaments Friday or Saturday (because Pitt has a home game at noon). There is a 2PM Sunday tourney, although he wasn't sure what the buyin was.
They are also developing a website for their poker room.

Went down to see the Steelers game and played some poker Saturday night and Sunday after the game. I was surprised the room wasn't more full on Sunday after the game.
No complaints really.
Seemed like a lot of nitty regulars Sunday.
Restroom could be closer but not a big deal.
Waitresses were friendly, decent looking, but not the fastest in the world.

I look forward to playing there again at my next Pitt game trip.

Where is the closest Primanti Brothers to the Rivers? Going on Tuesday and from what I hear I need to make a stop there for sure.
