They had a cart outside giving out bottles of h2o. I brought one in my pocket and I didn’t ask if they allowed this. I did not see anyone drinking anything at the tables.

No water is inhumane. Furthermore, it's a health risk for compulsive gamblers who'd prioritize gaming over hydration.

Nice room. Recommended.
The Girard subway stop
Is better lit, has more
Traffic, and a selection
Of restaurants. Better
Than the Bell Gardens
Stop. Quick seating
For No-limit. And
They have a bbjp and high hand
Promotion.

They closed at 8pm Wednesday due to Philly curfew with the recent unrest. Re-opening 8am, but could happen again if things are still heated.

In General the Philly Casino's have spread the $1/2 and $1/3. The $1/3 tends to get more of the gambly $1/2 crowds which I think makes the $1/2 a little worse than surrounding areas and makes the $1/3 better than surrounding area $1/2 and $1/3 games. From my experience the Baltimore and AC Casinos spread either one or the other and Borgata just went to $1/3 and doesn't spread $1/2 anymore since opening from Covid, correct?

Long story short....If a casino spreads $1/2 and $1/3, and you are a $1/2 or $1/3 player sit in the $1/3 always.

No, you don't have to, but they are accepting phone calls. Lists were in the teens long when I went last Saturday and I got in a game after around 30-40 minutes. They only spread 14 tables with every other table dead that they won't start a game with Covid protocols in place. They periodically made announcements that you can't wait for a table in the room, so i guess you are supposed to wait outside and periodically come in? I stood in the back of the room away from everyone else and they didn't bother me. I think they were just trying to keep everyone from gathering around the podium.

Thinking of coming there Friday from New York and getting there by noon to get a table. Can anyone tell me if the protests I've been hearing about in philadelphia are anywhere near rivers? thank you

You should be fine. I think the protests over the police-killed-civillian incident have chilled out and were in West Philly.

Rivers is a couple miles Northeast of what would be considered the heart of downtown. It wouldn't make for a particularly interesting gathering place.

Certainly worth it to scan the news just in case election stuff gets wild or something, but they haven't needed a curfew since Friday Oct 30th.

thanks, and how about the protests regarding the election vote counts? Is that near rivers?

On an aside, what do people think regarding the action 7 handed. Is it mostly tight regs or is it a mix of loose players similar to pre covid?

Went last Friday night for the first time. Got there around 6pm. 1/2 list was 35 deep and took me about 2 hours to get into a game. Action was okay, game is on average 5 handed. People are always getting up.

I won a little bit, I was card dead for most of the night.

I live in Jersey and am closer to parx, this was a nice option with nothing else open, but wouldn’t go back if I didn’t have to.
