Seriously who cares what people do with their prize as long as the contest was fair? The fact that I won demonstrates the drawing was not limited to some clan of insiders. At the risk of sounding like a paid prop for Revel (oh if only!): it seems that even players like Johnny who are clear-eyed enough to see the virtues of Revel log on here looking for something to complain about.

Not that there's nothing at ALL to complain about. I like that the poker room is separated from the casino floor but there should many more clear signs guiding potential players up to the PR.

I won one of the first six and was not part of that group. Was it 4 of 6 maybe?

I'm not complaining at all about the casino, nor did i ever say that there was something "wrong" with what they did. I just found it annoying lol. That is all. I love the Revel room as i said and think it is the best in the city. For the record, i never meant to try to come across as if i was saying it is only a contest for insiders or regulars. It just worked out that way when i was there two sundays ago.

could have been. maybe it was 4 of the first 5? it was purely coincidental but also my first time qualifying for the drawing so it was a little disheartening, that's all i was saying. it's a great promotion. i should qualify again this week. hopefully i win one of them.

I won either the second or third one....

theres gotta be a way to get your promos out there. last night i was playing 2/5 at borg and told the table about the comped rooms promo at revel and not 1 of them have ever heard of it before and were actually very surprised at the offer and seemed enthusiastic.

Frankie! I had such a great time yesterday! I was looking for you but I couldn't find you anywhere and I was too shy to ask.

I'll be back on Feb 9th. I was originally going to stay at the Borgata on that night but I had such a great time yesterday that I changed my reservation from there to the Revel and I'm really excited to go back! I'm so glad that I gave the Revel a second chance. You guys are doing an excellent job and really going out of your way to make poker players happy. And the food is fantastic! (Both in taste and price.) I have only great things to say at this point.

I spent last Thursday and Friday night playing at Revel (and we even got a shorthanded 1/2 PLO game started, which was my first live experience with it), and couldn't have had a better time. The cash games and tournament were both run well, and the complaints about the room were all simple results of not having a strong core number base yet.

Remarks/Comments:

1.) If you want a quick bite, order food from the table....even if you go off somewhere to eat it...it's pretty decent, and you'll spend like 1/3 of what you would at any of the low(er) end dining options at the Revel.

2.) Push to get a game started, even really short. Invariably, the table fills up in like 30 seconds, if you'll just suck it up and play 4 handed for a bit.

3.) I was surprised that the liquor selection available wasn't as nice as I expected, but not really a big deal.

4.) Dealers were solid, and a big benefit for me was that there wasn't a ton of the typical local AC dealer/player banter, rather it was a more professional experience, and felt more "touristy".

5.) Room is annoying to find as advertised, but is really attractive.

What time have the cash games been starting/ending:

Weekdays?
Weekends?

And do the tourney hours count whatsoever toward the 8/10 hours of play necessary to receive a free room for the night?

Thanks.
01-31-2013 , 11:09 PM
Weekdays - anywhere 5-7 PM...They'd start earlier if 3 people were willing to play SH or something.

Weekends - There was actually pretty much at least 1 1/2 table nonstop.

I don't think tourneys count.

I heard a couple months ago that Revel was planning on moving their poker room to a more convenient location? is it going to happen, or just a rumor?
02-01-2013 , 09:52 PM
I'm surprised to see so many people complaining about the room's location. The room is hard to find the first time you go there and after that it's pretty much a straight shot. There are also plenty of people around to help.

I like the location. It keeps the surrounding area quiet, which is nice IMO. Going back tomorrow (last minute decision) so I'm excited to play again!
02-01-2013 , 10:03 PM
yeah but most first timers cant find it then stopped trying to
02-01-2013 , 11:52 PM
I am planning to give Revel a shot 1-2 NL this Sunday, but why is it that people can't find the poker room? can't they ask around at least?
02-02-2013 , 01:08 AM
If you can't find the poker room...then you are just being lazy.
