I'm sorry but if other casinos with smaller poker rooms can make a killing running tournaments, then they have no excuse. I mean poker rooms should be the creme de la creme in a casino because they have a 100 percent winning margin. The only money that goes out is when they run small promotions. Just because the people in charge can't wrap their heads around percentage profit verses total profit.

Idk. I hope I did. I usually check my mail after work or every couple days. I'll check tonight though. Sounds fun.

Even though it's "Invite Only" you still gotta pay $300+30+20 but they're adding $5,000 to the prize pool. It says it's a bounty tournament limited to 150 people and there's a bounty on Vince Van Patten but it doesn't say if every player has a bounty on them. Maybe everyone has a $30 bounty and VVP has a $500 bounty.

Realistically they probably have to send out 5000 invites to get 150 participants. And if they didn't invite that many I doubt it will fill up.

Got mine. Is the other tourney sold out yet?

Most likely. This weekend they were announcing 11 seats left and I saw 2 people buying seats after that.

There used to be 5/10 Omaha/8 on Tuesday & Wednesday nights in the earlier incarnation of the room. I sometimes miss that game.

I don't think they're adding anything to the prize pool. I think that $5,000 they mention is the amount of chips you receive for the $20 optional add-on. Although it is anyone's guess if there are bounties on everyone or just VVP, and how much of a bounty.

Nah it's $5000 added by Poto (95% sure). They used to do it all the time. They'd add $20,000 on top of the $100,000 tournament but that was their entire marketing budget for the year so there'd be no other room promos lol. People were pissed too - instead of giving anything back to the cash game regulars they give it to tournament donkeys from Chicago that come in for 1 day and then leave. They're kind of doing the same thing again - using cash game bad beat funds to fuel a tournament promotion.

Last night I went back at 9:30 PM (12 hours after the tournament start and about 6 hours after I busted) to get some 5X points on slots and was surprised the final table was still going. There were still 8 people and with 3.2M chips and a 20K big blind that meant there were still 160 big blinds on the table. Ultimately they made a 5 way deal at the 24K blind level.

Chip leader got $14K (~$700 too much)
2nd-3rd got $9K (~1K and $500 too little)
4th-5th got $8.4K ($400 too much)

One of the $9K'ers everybody who plays $1-2 knows and one of the $8.4K'ers everybody who plays $3-5 knows. The other 2 dudes I've seen but can't remember if I've only seen them in the weekly tournaments or in cash games too. The CL I'd also seen but I think that was also only in tournaments but maybe he plays $1/2 also.

Anyway, congrats to all. So after it was done I still had about an hour to get some 5X points on video poker. Managed to put $100 in points on my card and got this.

Spoiler:

BBJ was at $170k tonight, qualifier goes to quad 4s at $175k

5x 1/2 2x 3/5 & PLO going, don't know if that is better than usual for a Wednesday

I asked Thursday and they said there were opening the bounty tournament to everyone regardless of receiving an invitation. And at that time there was only close to 50 people registered.

Went out on Friday afternoon at $2/4 limit so it's back down in the $80K range.

Does the 20/40 still run on Tuesdays?

Yes, sir. I went to play NL last Tuesday and that game was still full at 8PM. $4 rake. Super aggro game (dealer switch was from that to our NL game) as you'd expect.

Also, in April the casino (not poker room) is have the best drawings in years. The place is going to be packed every Sunday.

Sunday Apr 6, 13, 20, 27:

12PM, 2PM, 4PM, 6PM
5 x $500 Reward Play
5 x $1000 cash.

8PM
5 x $500 Reward Play
3 x $5000 cash
1 x $15,000 cash.

If you go on one of those days between 4PM and 8PM you probably won't be able to find a parking spot anywhere.
