i've always found good games here and the majority of the dealers are competent. the floor people do the best they can with the very strict rules that are placed on them by the gaming commission. i've played a lot of hours there and never felt mistreated or unappreciated.

so when i hear stuff like this:

it makes me think you went in one time and had a bad experience. you say a guy is grizzly looking, snorting and talking loudly. did he offend you? was he doing something unfriendly to the players? if that's the case, then please get his name and post it. otherwise, nothing will get better. but please, next time come with solid examples. don't say he was "grizzly looking." what good does that do anyone? do you really want the room to improve or do you just want to complain?
This. I love Poto, not sure why we get all these foggy/whining "Floor doesn't KissMyA" posts

I'm going there for the first time next month to see Cheap Trick.
I plan on gambooling and hanging out before hand. I heard you can't drink at the tables??? Wtf is that crap?

A while back this was the case...you were only allowed to drink booze/beer in the dining establishments but you can drink anywhere on the property now (not sure about inside the theater though since i've never seen a concert there). They do charge a nice dollar on drinks though..$4.25 for a Bottle of Beer and $6-$8 for a mixed drink...the only saving grace is that you can pay with your points earned on your card.

Went to the Pot last night from 8 pm til 4 am. Plenty busy, and plenty of action. I got on 3-6 FL first (1-2 list was long) and just stayed with it. Was in for 260 with reloads, got down to 60$ and clawed back to cash out with 300. was happy to get back since 4 am was get your ass home time.

Time and time again I made what I thought had to be good laydowns, only to be shown a bluff or bottom pair in a multiway river bet and called pot. I stuck with the TAG approach (loosening up a little on the river calls) and there were plenty there who liked their K4s and were happy to pay off all bets with their top pair no kicker.

All the staff seemed to be in a pretty good mood. all the floors did a good job from what i encountered.

lots of grumpyass older people. i was under the impression that an older table meant extra nitty. not last night. plenty of "i see every flop" going on and taking down big pots. stacks didnt last long. one guy was wise enough to call it a night after rivering a big pot.

cocktail waitresses did a good job. kinda sucks you have to pay for booze but thats the way it goes.

approximate tables going last night

3-4 2-4 limit
3-4 3-6 limit
2-3 1-1-2 NL

2-3 3-5 NL

15-30 limit

very large PLO game

no limit hi lo last night. thought that ran pretty steady on weekends?

I have played the 1-2 before and while the rake is comical, some of the players in the game more than make up for the lost rake.

heard mention of a tourney coming up with 10-11k stacks, but unsure as to the blind schedule.

That starts up at around 9 AM or so on Saturday morning. Sometimes breaks by mid-afternoon if two people get up to go eat lunch and two more decide to call it a day with no one on the waiting list. 6-handed often means the game breaks! But sometimes it survives and runs deep into the night. I've also seen it start up late on Tuesday afternoons.

Jerry Yang is in town and playing at Potawatomi this weekend.

They've reserved a 10/20 NL game for him tomorrow.

Wait, you're a pro, and you need the house to stake you? Did he actually come all the way to Milwaukee just to play poker under some sort of promo arrangement? If that's the case, I understand backing out on principle. He wouldn't be the first player to refuse to play Poto.

I was there Saturday and the dealers said he was playing the $5/$10 NL at table 15. I didn't bother to look though.

poto is having a tourney....

but...

1st level, 50 bb. cool
2nd level, 25 bb. ok
3rd level, 16 bb. ehh
4th level, 12 bb. ugh
5th level, 10 bb. cough!
6th level, 5 bb. puked in my mouth a little.
7th level 2.5 bb. why poto why?

$340 tournament. See you guys at the Chicago Poker Classic.

I'm a huge advocate of POTO running tournaments. But if you're going to run bad tournaments, I'd just rather you not have them at all.

They said 100 people max. They're going to be lucky to get 30 people.

Joker structure. Come on guys!

Then after a whopping 10 levels, there is a note at the bottom of the page that says, "Blinds will double every 30 minutes after round 10."
