People still buy in for 100 bucks at 2/5. In fact usually about half the table buys in for 100 over-and-over-and-over. There are a ton of ppl that bring $1k and buyin for 100 at a time til it's gone. God lovem!!

I'll be in town next week and expect to hit St. Johns at least one...maybe another room, who knows? If anyone here wants to meet up, let me know.

heard they are building a 3rd poker room in Jacksonville

Mini-report from a 4 hr session at OP thursday night:

-Whoever it was that I quoted earlier about players hating their money was right. Putting money in looking for sick outs. 2/2 NL was entertaining.

-I lacked rungood. I stopped counting at 10 of times where I had the best hand only to be rivered/drawn out (about 1/3 of the time it was my fault with FPS, and lack of betting at all)

-Very nice room. Probably the 2nd nicest non-vegas room I have been to, behind Harrah's NOLA (been to Ebro, JCKC, Ft Laud HR, Tampa HR as well)

-Only real complaint was the lack of a bathroom on the Cardroom level. Wound up missing getting called from the list (was 4th on when I put my name on) due to a pre-session dump.

-All in all I will probably go back on subsequent trips to my in-laws (mostly asa great way to decompress). Look forward to giving it a shot on a Saturday afternoon.

Footnote - One of my 2nd best hands was a rivered flush when a guy hit his set on the turn, didn't bet, and quaded up on the river. Thankfuly he only had $35 in front of him.

There is a bathroom on the PR level. It's all the way in the back on the left. Just go around the podium and walk out the double doors straight ahead, look to your left.

I hate them, and its one of the big problems with this room. There are very few that put 100 at a time and have more than $300 in their pocket. The room has minimum buy ins that are way to low. They are screwing these players because they go broke so fast, and they are hurting the health of the room as most of these players should be playing 2-2 where they will be generating more rake for the room (as they go broke slower). Its much better to have deeper stack 2-5 and 5-10 games - better for the room, better for the under-rolled bad players, and better for the good players.

Nice to know for next time. When I asked the front desk she told me I had to go back downstairs.

Yeah she probably meant that the closest bathroom to the podium is downstairs, which is true.


Yeah the short stackers piss me off too. I play 2/2 exclusively at the moment. Those guys at who buy in for 100, buy in for 40 at 2/2. I wish they would raise the minimum buy in even at 2/2 to 80. It's getting to a point where If there is no money at the table, I'll table change.

I'd probably still be playing there if they didn't have the ridiculously-low min buyins and huge number of shortstackers.

Can we talk about the waitresses/bartenders at St Johns?

The uniforms are pretty awesome, like superadvanced wonderbra type cleavage machine tops.

The brunette there prob has the best boobs, just wowzas hard to make eye contact great.

Another nice one is the platinum blonde, nice boobage, and great legs.

There's another blonde one there where at first you're like "Hmmm, she doesn't have much boob for that uniform, but then she turns around and you're like HOLY COW. Best butt in the city, it's almost like she was built to show off that butt. She almost has some kind of reverse hunch thing going on where her spine pushes forward to make that butt even stick out more.

The uniforms are probably the same at op as well. I keep expecting a boob to pop out if they were to bend over in that wonderbra/corset get up.

Well, I guess you aren't allowed to wear a hoody at the poker room. I wasn't trying to be Phil Laak or anything, but at 3am sitting underneath one of those vents you are freezing your ass off there. Will probably bring a beanie.

Anyone on here planning on playing any of the WPT tourneys they are having at Orange Park this weekend? Are the WPT regionals worth it.

Well, I visited OP last week on a Wednesday evening and I was stunned to see about 20 tables going. I sat in the 2/5 500 max game and was even more stunned how bad almost every player is, compared to Vegas. I won a quick $500 in about 2 hours and had to go...if I lived there, I would definitely be there every day.

Yup, was like 3 or 4am two tables going on a weekday and some suit comes over taps me on the shoulder and says to take the hood down. What's funny is I actually tried to buy a hoody there previously because it was so ****ing cold, but they were out so I brought my own that time.

I'm playing the main event (satellited in) and maybe 1 or 2 other events.

Planning on just buying into the $300+40 on the 5th. Hope it has a good turn out.

Nope. They told me to drop the hood as well. It can definitely get cold in there, so I bunch the hood around my neck.
