Thanks guys, as you said I had no problem getting in here. Tho I was in NYC, I'm traveling from Detroit. Like what I'm seeing so far. Hope the PLO lives up to the hype!

I’m younger than you and I’ve never been carded at Parx or Philly Live. Rivers now checks everyone’s id, I had previously never been carded until they started doing that

I noticed that there were a few turkish people at my table. They were speaking turkish. Is there any cheating/collusion/ softplay? Also the games seem to be good with a few sharks.

RIP 15-30?
As an update, it looks like the 15 game is dead now. Hasn't run for 2+ months, except maybe once or twice when it broke pretty quickly. The 40 game is still going strong, if not stronger though.

Bad for me, since I'm not playing 40. I guess I'll need to either just come for fun at 6-12 OE and 10-20 Big O, or maybe try my luck at PLO. More likely my visits will just dramatically decline.

Any posters ever play in the 6/12 OE? I'm thinking about making the drive, but I live 5 hours away and not sure I want to make the trip just to play Hold Em.

More or less asking if the game is infested with nits/olds.

Hey, I play in it sometimes!

The OE is mostly old regs, but there are a couple action players who come in to drop bombs every now and then.

the 10-20 Big O is a little more action oriented. Some of them are TAG, some are LAG and will jam with any edge, so it can get exciting. Plus there is an occasional action player who will just jam for no good reason.

It me, I am the action player.

10 20 big O is limit or pot limit?
Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP Quote

limit. with a half kill.

PLO is 4 card only here, at 2-2, 5-5, or 10-10 I believe (it might be 10-25).

Both hi lo games (OE and Big O) are good. There are regulars but very few play well even if they know the basics. I like that the 6-12 has a 10-20 kill. Go and have fun, if you like high low you will enjoy them.

Any public transit from downtown to the casino? I’d like to come by for a week, not sure whether to stay in Bensalem or downtown though.

Thanks for this and the heads up about the kill. Probably going to head down on Monday and stay in the area for a couple of days.

Big O is 5 cards, right? Is it just a nut-peddling game?

It should be, given that it's 5 card omaha, but no it is not (for many/most players). All sorts of weird hands show up. Fun!

There probably is, but it will be painful. If you mainly want to play at Parx and have no car I would stay at the courtyard Marriott which you can walk to (it’s basically just off the casino parking lot). You can get a player rate of 129 a night — see the bottom of this page - https://www.parxcasino.com/bensalem/poker. If you can get a car it would be far better because you could hit other poker rooms (live in Philly or rivers in Philly). But honestly Parx is best place to play by far. Depends if you want an actual vacation where you do things or only want to play poker. If you want the former you will need to have a car if you stay near Parx. If you want the later I think you can get away with staying at Marriott by Parx. Or you can stay in Philly and go to the Philly casinos and maybe one or two trips to Parx by pub transit or Uber (but that may be pricey). Then you can do the Philly tourist stuff as well. But hotels in Philly will be pricier.

I am not local so someone may be able to correct me but I believe the OE doesn’t usually run on mondays just FYI. Tuesdays both will and I believe 6-12 goes most other days. Not sure what days big o runs but seems to be often. But last time I was passing through on a Monday high low wasn’t going. But check bravo or call poker room to be sure. Poker room will have better sense of exact days things run. Parx also have live horse racing on certain days if you’re into that. Finally hit up Toscana 52 down street from casino for good, reasonably priced Italian. Suburban diner (around a five minute drive) also worth hitting up for breakfast. Let us know how the trip is.

Also you are probably aware that AC/Borgata is about 90 minutes from Parx if you want to extend your trip. No high low during week but on Thursday, Fri and Sat they will generally have a 10-20 big o with half kill at borg (one table, usually starts early am) that is fun. They will also have 20-40 hold em (sometimes, thursdays always Fri and sat and sun), 10-20 hold em (Fri and sat), 20-40 stud (at harrahs thurs, borg Fri sat and sun) as well as other games.

The Inn at fox Chase is the one adjacent to the casino. The courtyard is on the other side of street road. I stayed at Fox chase back when it was Holiday Inn and it was OK. I do remember the stairwell being flooded. Might be improved under new management. The pictures certainly make it look nicer.

The Marriot was definitely nicer but not sure I would walk that far at night with money on me.

if you get their pizza fresh out of the oven it is really good. I didn’t realize that they were just serving the old pizza and i always thought it tasted so bad, but how can you not pay $3 for a pepperoni slice when you just wanna eat something real quick

Next time, i’m just gonna ask how fresh it is

why is there more games on a tuesday wheres no high hands than any other days?
Parx Casino (Bensalem, PA) -- FAQ in OP Quote

It’s always been the traditional day when high limit games happen. People come all over for it, been that way for many years at Parx which is why there are so many games. They don’t need promos because it is going to be busy anyway with higher stakes games. For example there are six 10-10 NL going now, 3 10-10 PLO, three 10-02 nlh triple blind, one 50-100 NL, couple 40-80 limit etc.

I made the drive down and played on Tues night. Can confirm the action was insane. Saw multiple six figure cash outs from the 50-100 game.

High/low was tons of fun. 6/12 was uber soft and the Big O game looked juicy; I regret not sitting in it when I had the chance.

I think it had something to do w borgata back in the day… mtts or promos or something. Parx countered w Tuesday or something.

But ya Tuesdays became the day at this place.

I drive round trip 5+ hours to go on Tuesday’s when I’m free.. the action is that good.

Multiple 2-2 and 5-5plo games with some even bigger games.

The PLO has gotten bananas.

I did happen to go here once, and it was packed in the middle of the week played plo (which I almost never do) while waiting like an hour to get into 2/5. I’m guessing I was here on a Tuesday lol. Of course the 2/5 I wound up playing was not that much action but still fun
