There's are another large group of 6/12 oe players who would prefer to play bigger, for example 8/16 or 15/30 mixed. Unfortunately not enough interest is generated for that. Therefore you get 2 table of 6/12 oe.
I definitely fall into the 2nd category. And you're right, the 6/12 regs do prefer the O8 half, and many of those guys are also Taj 5/10 O8 regs.

My suggestion to Ari would be to try and convince the regs to bring back the O8 game. Then, I'd try and spread an 8/16 HOE, HOSE, etc. The games wouldn't cannibalize each other, or interfere limit-wise.
My guess is that you'd see one table of O8 on a regular basis, and 8/16 mixed occasionally. Maybe once a week on a set day/time ?

I am interested in trying to start an 8/16 mixed game, and can definitely start a list on Fri. nights and weekends.

This does not happen in live poker. Only at TAJ.

I'm there @ 12:30......willing to try 1/3 08

How about we try for Friday night 8/16 HOSE?

If we show up and will sit and start it, they will spread it. I'l be there by 5 or 6, who else is interested? We need 4 or 5 to commit to come and start it, earlier the better, later in the evening and it may be tough to get a dealer and we would have to wait while they open 5 1/2 nl tables first.

Ill play 4/8 Bri....Ima light weight. Although, if I can book an extra 8-9 cheques before 5 pm I may try the reg pool at 8.

Im guessing we arent going to run 5, 10, or 20 LHE games being we have $10 chips now? I used to like the 5 or 10 game waaaay back when they had a poker room at the TAJ.

** I know, I know, two TAJ references in two posts, sorry...sigh

Parx does not have a magic muck, touching the burn cards is meaningless. If the cards are retrievable, player one could/should have called the floor, he may/would have been ruled the winner of the hand.
It happened quickly. I probably could have explained in better detail, so I'll try now.

The guy stood, then the dealer dealt the river pretty much as the guy threw his hand face down. As the river hit, seat one saw it, processed for about 1-2 seconds, and the dealer touched his cards which were in contact with the burn cards.

The player grabbed the cards from up top and flipped them up, dealer said that they had been mucked and his hand was dead. The floor was not called.

I have always thought that unprotected cards touching burn cards / mucked cards became dead. However my live experience is far from extensive and limited to maybe 10 different venues, so I'm by no means an authority on what would have happened had the floor been called. What I do know is that seat one acted quite foolishly (in that hand and in general) and that since I was not in the hand, it wasn't my place to call the floor.

Fair enough.

What you describe is a "magic muck". Some, but not all (nor even most) rooms have such a rule. Many players think their rooms have such a rule, but they are mistaken.

In most others, including Parx (to the best of my knowledge, anyway), if the dealer says his cards are identifiable and retrievable, and the floor feels they should be made live, then they can be retrieved and made live. The fact that they were touching the muck is inconsequential, as long as the dealer tells the floor that that players cards are still identifiable and retrievable.

If the player had insisted the floor be called, he could have made his case to the floor. If the floor had ruled in his favor, then his hand could have been declared live.

Many posters here are split on whether or not what you described should be enough to convince the floor to make the hand live. One on end of the spectrum, some people believe that as long as the hand is still retrievable, the best hand should win, even if the player attempts to muck, then changes his mind. On the other side, some people feel that as soon as you take some action to muck your hand (e.g. tossing it forward over the line, even if it touches nothing else in doing so), it is dead. There is lots of room in between as well. In general, all agree that, barring exigent circumstances, the dealer should expeditiously muck any folded hand so that it is irretrievable, avoiding this whole situation.

I do agree with you, though, that since you were not involved in the hand, I would keep quiet about it unless the floor asked you what you saw, or if someone told the floor something which you could factually dispute.

I have complaints about some of the dealers, I see Ari reads these posts sometimes so I'll write about it here.
I find many of the dealers paying attention to the sports on tv i.e if the team they have action on is winning or how their fantasy player is doing. More and more often dealers are no paying attention to what is going on at the table and paying more attention to the TV's.
Many times they do not know what action has been at the table resulting in shipping pots to the wrong players or players acting out of turn. Once I check I should not have to check three more times for the dealer to realise it.
Anyone else notice the lack of attention to the game from some dealers?

Does anyone know whether the Parx WPT Main Event will be a 10k or 3.5k event?

Fantasy season hasnt started yet . I find it way more annoying when the dealer has to tell a player its his turn to act over and over again.

there are a few i have seen do this...it's rare...but i will say, the ones who check out the tv in between action are usually the ones who deal the fastest, count the fastest, and resolve issues the fastest...so if once every ten minutes you have to give them a jolt I don't think it's a big deal.

Same here. They just "upgraded" their web site to a full blown PHP thing - this feels like a bug.

You can still get the game report by going to http://www.parxcasino.com/poker.php#!/poker_game_report and clicking on the live game report link.

Unfortunately, the idiotic hash-bang AJAX won't load correctly on its own, you have to click on the live game report link.

Double unfortunately, it is no longer sortable. "# tables" is also mislabeled as "seats open".

Triple unfortunately, it is slow as balls, as compared to the old game report. Hopefully they can get a faster direct link working at some point.

I am not sure what will happen for mobile browsers.

Still the old version on my mobile browser.

Not a fan of the new version on my laptop for all the reasons mentioned.

Awesome! If you can get a way to bring up just the graph and select single games out of the list that would be even better

Uh, you can.

Very cool app, thanks!

I'm sure the parx web devs will break it like they did the other one.
