Haven't played at PBKC in months, can't wait for the tournies! Are the rings too big to wear around town???

The simple truth is that most floors/dealers don't understand how a real poker room should work because they do not know enough about real rooms or poker itself. Their position tricks them into thinking they are experts in the field, when they have been dealing with 100BB poker for ~7months. This false sense of knowledge or expertise in the field polarizes the floor into guys that either listen to knowledgeable players, or ignore them and act like total idiots.

The floor at the kennel club includes a few player-friendly individuals that will listen to players and take their suggestions (I'm mostly speaking of players in the high limit area, and I assume they ignore quite a few of the drunk angry degenerates grinding away their last 20$ at the straight two game.) Willy, Noah and a few other various dealers/floors seem to try to appeal to the players that regular the room.

Other people that work the floor completely ignore basic requests and make terrible arbitrations/decisions. I recommend people visiting this room try to avoid a big old guy or a short fat woman, as both are completely clueless and somewhat senile.

I cashed out my safety box and stopped visiting this room because the incompetence of a few employees was just too tilting.

Also i heard they switched the game to 1000-5000 which is fantastic, it sounds like the room is changing for the better. The best thing management could do for the place would be to fire the stubborn/stupid people working in the room that make it miserable/difficult for the players.

The room had 2 huge donators with ungodly sums of money. Both were very amicable and ostentatious. Somehow the floor managed to let one go south by making life difficult for him/generally dumb floor decisions/harassment. The other had an incident with another player that resulted in him having his body guard ejected.

Both are really awesome guys, and its disappointing that they now play at the isle instead. I don't play at the isle, I'm not trying to plug them for my own benefit, just being honest. The Isle is a nicer room with better rake and better games. Hopefully the coming wsop events will round up lots of action players/games and give the pbkc a chance to prove themselves.

My buddy texted me about an hour ago that they didn't have any 5/10 NL 100BB games going at the moment, just some 5/10 30BB donkashove tables, and nothing higher. Ever notice that a lot of us didn't play live poker in Florida before July 1? I'm plugging the Isle into google maps right now. Should I also spell check the word ******ed?

Disclaimer: I don't know all the details, just what I received in some texts so far, and I'm pissed. Maybe it will be better tomorrow.

I answered this in the THR thread, but yes, they have two seperate 5/10 buy ins. Main area is 5/10 $300 max, high limit area is 5/10 1k-5k min-max. See the brush in front of the high limit area to play there, it is run by a dedicated high stakes coordinator so you do not have to deal with waiting for fills or reloads. See you there tomorrow!

Details on convo at least?
The bottom line was that Noah invited me in for a meeting, we sat down and went over several of the core issues, and he promised me that they will be addressed....I took my lockbox back, felt positive about the chat with Noah, and also played a good set in the 1k-5k game.....got burned on a flopped straight, but it was my fault for just not believing the villian had more than 2 pair.....he hit a boat on the turn BEFORE I shoved......He always beats me....I hate him....LOLOL....just kidding, but all i did was get up, and left and now I am ready for the WSOP BABY!

The place WILL be rocking.....it is ALL good......and Noah, when you read this.....don't forget all the freerolls you promised me!!!! ( that was a joke kiddies).

TypicalNobody

PS: Today is the day one 300.00 event, huge turnout anticipated, get there early....I am at table 61, seat 7.......see you at the final table!

Mojo, get any sleep? LOL

Not sure you have a reliable buddy, I can assure you that there was a big 5/10 going all the way up untill closing time (3am).

If your phone is so smart to lead you to certain destination, then why cant it dial a phone number and ask the location what is going on?

I played the 5/10nl 1k-5k game last night. Yes there were 2 100-300 5/10s but there also was this "real" 5/10. We changed the game to round of each at around 10 or so any they got another 1k-5k 5/10nl going once we did this. The action looks like it'll be good here at Pbkc!

if you read the previous posts then there was some disputes that may have detoured the 10 25 game. I think they have reached an agreement and with the series here, there should be bigger games over the next couple of weeks

I made more than $400 in less than 1hr in this "donkashove" yesterday!

I also like to compliment with 2 the staff (Mojo, Brett, John Manny & others) for making my reimirgence yesterday (after more than 6 months hiatus) into the poker community a very pleasant one! I'm looking forward to playing almost daily the next few weeks at PBKC for these WSOPC events!

BTW, these 3-way $125 SNGs were good for me yesterday, as I went 4 for 5 with 2 wins & 2 3rd place finishes!

Teddy
PS - After more than 6 months hiatus from playing live poker full time (due to getting my Systems Admin Microsoft Certifications), I'm excited about playing again full time!!!

Wonderful day one event, well run, no issues, and a GREAT turnout!

341 players for day 1a....probably the same for tommorows day1b

Personally I busted out with around 80 players left, made one strategic mistake that caused my downfall from a really solid day, and all the players seemed to play very well at the various tables I was at.

The cash games were MOBBED with any kind of game you wanted......all good, well done, kudos to all.

I realize that the kennel club is virtually adjacent to the airport. But, can one reasonably walk from the airport property to the club?

Hey, I'm in West Palm and wanted to give a quick update; I didn't mean to troll about the 5/10 structure earlier, that was just my initial reaction. I'm still not digging the 30BB tables, since some of those players would otherwise be playing with us. However...

I left my first session a little while ago, and have a good first impression of the place. The staff was really nice, and the high limit area was well organized. There was a decent amount of action, and I could get food service right away. They definitely took care of us better than my local Hard Rock. Now I'll go back to mostly reading and not posting on here. Thumbs up so far on the West Palm Kennel Club! See you at the tables tomorrow.

The walk is what I would call "reasonable," but it's not as though you would be walking on sidewalks the whole way there. There is a pond between PBKC and the terminals, so you can't walk on a direct line to the airport.

Hey Mojo,

Im living in delray, never been PBKC but from what is said ITT sounds like you guys run the tournaments real well. I want to play this SUnday's $335, but won't be able to pregister tonight. If I get there by 10:30am tomorrow you think I will be able to get a seat? Thanks

I know I am not MOJO but maybe I can help.

It has been my experience that you will NOT be turned away to play.

My personal opinion is that they will not sell out so your only issue may be missing the first level due to a possible line to register. But you will definitely get a seat.
