Just getting back from a vacay poker/sports/craps trip and like others have stated previously Orleans has characters if it doesn't have anything else. There really could be a SHO or HBO show about that poker room and the stories and tall tales.

Making convo with the floor one weekend evening they were able to explain quickly and clearly all of the high hand/bbj for both HE and O8 with great customer service. I sat down at the must move O8 that ended up breaking and they put me on the 4-8 LHE. Little did I know what I had signed up for (I generally like to be sarcastic at tables of these stakes with alotta deadpan humor and confusing questions, all while smiling and donating mostly).

Mixed bag, myself and one other young reg, about 3-4 middle aged Orleans regs/grinders, 1 old lady, 1 true character who probably lives under the casino (proudly wearing a dingy casino t-shirt).

After a bunch of yapping and joking on middle aged reg (of an asian persuasion, no disrespect intended) who is clearly in the game to make a particular profit gets slow rolled and sucked out on a few times and begins to steam over some pots in the $40-$60 range. I start a bunch of table talk about how LHE at these stakes is only entertainment etc., this makes the reg a bit more disgruntled because I have other people laughing and he is losing to some extent.

Another deeper more exciting and action table breaks and they fill the seat directly beside the steamer with someone also of asian persuasion with plenty of chips who is drinking and asking for a refill, and sits down and lags it up immediately.

Fast forward in the midst of a few hands that the steamer is losing, he takes offense at something the lag is saying after playing bad, and a high energy discussion starts. I was under the impression that they weren't being truly serious and try and use comedy to lower the tension.

"You want some"...."What you mean, we can go outside right now"...."Ok, let me finish this hand"...."It's no way they are going to fight is it, lol"....*whispering*"who you taking, lets bet on it"....*lag leans over very close to steamer and says in his ear* "I'll **** you up".....*steamer calmly gets up* "lets go outside"....*both players walk out to the tourney area and begin scuffling in the casino*....*true character starts screaming and tries himself to break up the scuffle that he has no business involved in*....*floor calls police but seems to think its funny or normal*....*fight broken up by security*....*whole table watching*....*true character spends the next 30 minutes trying to explain what he was not even involved in to the security*....*lag and steamer are still hot and want to continue the scuffle outside*....*old security taking his job way too serious starts screaming as well*....*both players asked to leave*

Game breaks, no O8 seats left, no more jackpots, I grab a cab and I have another great story about the Orleans poker room.

That room is different but I love it. And the Orleans over ten years ago only seemed to be hire waitresses with huge implants. But that seemed to soften when I went 7 years ago.

There is a TV show with the Orleans feel but for horse racing called Lucky on HBO (I refuse to say Max). Dustin Hoffman Nick Notle. It's fabulous and unique and was renewed for second season but two horses died in filming and PETA pressured HBO into canceling the show. Definitely watch!!

I take no position here on PETAs view as right or wrong, this is not the forum for such. I do wish the horses didn't die as I was crushed we couldn't get more seasons of this show, it's that good.

Probably when they got too old for them.

I used to love one chubby and very busty waitress who always looked like she was about to 'bust' out of her costume.

In 2019, the last time I was at The Orleans, poker comps were $1.25/hour. Less than the $2/hr at major strip casinos, but at Orleans & Gold Coast prices are cheaper at the restaurants, so the redemption value is similar if you use your comps to buy food.

Probably, but I wouldn't have noticed it she smiled or not, never ordered anything myself.

I think there were more than one "busters". I was just there during WSOP, and sadly their wait and dealing crew look very ordinary.

I see they have a tourney series in December. What kind of impact does it have on cash game availability?

Was that the middle eastern/maybe spanishlady? She looked like she was about to explode out of her outfit. Her and Nellie were quite the tag team back in the day.

They have an additional tourney area they use when they expect to be busy. If they are holding a series, I would think they would use it. They don't lose any cash tables when they're using that.

For anyone that knows.

What LHE games run year round and do any just run during the WSOP?

Thanks in advance.

Unless something has changed recently, just 4/8 and 8/16 at all times.
