Yeah there was a sign for the tourney. IIRC it said it was going to be 64 players, top 4 get paid. Pretty sure it said $200+20 but don't quote me on that.

Confirmed the HU tourney. March 17th. 2PM. Registration at 11AM. $200 + $25 for 2500 chips. $10 bonus gets you 3500 more chips. Limited to 64 players. I'm curious of the logistics in doing this tournament with only 11 tables in the room, but I give them credit in doing something unique that no other PA room has done yet. Good Luck Mike!

this is pretty interesting... and very surprising. they have this poker room lacking so much compared to other rooms for what appears to be money saving motives (cramped spaces, move the room off the floor, underpaid staff and undertrained staff, etc, etc) and then they hold the least profitable tournament with only a 20% fee. i wonder if they realize it's one dealer for every 2 players! lol.

it's very cool they're doing it though. i have never seen a low buy-in hu tourney offered anywhere. it will certainly draw players. as much as i complain i have to compliment this. i wish i was good hu.

I showed up @ the meet n greet after and played some 2/4 LHE.

Introduced myself to Cyndi... amazingly, she got fleeced about as bad as I did @ Tilt. [~1200bux].
Really sad, as I imagine she wasn't the only 2nd-tier red pro who got shafted.

I heard 1 guy griping that the turny was a turbo... I wouldn't do a turbo for 120$, but that's just me.

Saw on the Mt Airy website that they have been bought out by Tropicana Las Vegas, maybe good things are to come?

Im going to check out the HU tourny 2morow but I doubt ill play in it. MSPD is having a $220 black chip bounty at 7pm which seems more appealing to play in. I definitly like how MA is at least showing signs of life for trying to offer a new tournament.

Anyone know anything about the structure? I heard rumor it might be something like 10 min matches or a set amount of hands played. If its anything like this its not worth it but if its not I'd like to play. Cant find any info on the website.

Wouldnt surprise me if that is what it is. How else would they do it? They cant use the tables for tournament all day, wouldnt make sense. Seems liek it may be a shove fest/no skill involved tourny.

My guess is...most chips after 10 hands is declared the winner

Thats the unconfirmed rumor I heard either 10 hands or 10min whoever has most chips. Might as well make it a rock paper scissors tournament. Can anyone please confirm.

It can't really be 10 minutes. To many factors to consider. Dealing ability, slow play etc. if its 10 min matches just win the first hand then don't do anything until time runs out.

The blind levels are 5 min. and the matches wont last longer then a half hour.
They are only using 4 tables so wait for first to second round could be a while.

Turbo I might play, I have played more then my share of Turbo HU SNG online but if it's some BS like who ever has the most chips after 10 min
I might as well shove $200 in a slot. I have never played a HU tournament live so I was kinda looking forward to this but now....

A HU tournament is a great idea but I am suspect about their execution. It could be a real ****show down there today. Good luck to all those flipping.

Congrats on the T-Shirt! Was the starting level 100/200 like I heard? 17.5bb starting stack in a HU tournament, there is just no words for how ridiculous that is lol. Glad I chose Sands today.

100/200 starting most matches were done by 2nd level, was a crap shoot for sure. They did get the 2/5 going at 11am which stayed full till I left at 6 but things still seem pretty much the same there.
