Call me stupid, but what makes 5/10 so much worse than 6/12? Is it the simple fact that in 6/12 the pots would look bigger because you are using $3 chips?

To someone counting the pot it doesn't make sense. To people there just to have fun they see a huge pile of chips in the middle and make very liberal calls.

Also Foxwoods allready spreads a 5/10 & 10/20. Mohegan has an opportunity to do something unique. 6/12 half kill or 9/18 (whichever one they choose) are rarely spread anywhere on the east coast.

i was there another night two weeks ago and a dealer said someone was cashing out for >5k... he played 1/2 for over 2 days straight in the same seat... took a few breaks here and there but never removed his chips.

That is obscene...almost too much to be believed, as much as I hate to say it. I have seen the best of players get up to 1.5K, only to be hit by a cooler and come spiraling back down to Earth.

I am not denying that it is possible to leave a session up $100/hr at 1/2, but it is a rate that does not seem sustainable even over a 2-day period on variance alone, not to mention the wear the person would take in terms of sleep deprivation.

The games during the week must really be soft :P.

Yea, IWSJ, I've cashed out >2k 3 times in that game, been over that a few more times and given some back. Its not that uncommon. But its hard to get there playing a conservative, tag style.

True, and I am definitely a TAG (not a nit, though--I am about 23/17 at the Sun), and the one time I did get paid nearly 2k was when I was much LAGgier over a year ago. I am not disputing the ability to cash out 2k, but 5k over 48 hours is one heck of a case of "running well".

Is it just me, or does Saturday and Sunday seem packed with nits and "black holes"? (people who bring $60 to the table, only to bleed it off $6 at a time? I call them black holes because they have the earning potential of an empty seat)

And to the gamboooling passerby, its a good reason to sit down instead of playing blackjack or paigow.

I did not say I like to eat at the table and I was specific with what I will eat. Something that I dont need to touch with my hands like soup. Even a salad. I dont want chips are cards fouled either. I agree also that a break and walking around is a good thing. There are two situations that will make it hard though. One is someone leaking chips, getting drunker, buying back in again, and repeating. How many people would get up for 1/2 hour or longer from a broken slot machine that keeps hitting? The other one is what just happened to me. A short table that may already have players on break and no list. If you leave there is a real good chance you cause the table to break or its broken by the time you return.
I play lots of tourneys and my issue is more so for this situation. 10 minute breaks are just not enough time to get something and eat, espeically if you need a pee break. Most dailys have no dinner break. When their is a dinner break its usually fairly deep into the day.
When eating is permitted its not like the place looks like a buffet line. Its maybe one player for out of three or four tables. I like the option and what my OP was about was how higher limit players can eat and lower ones and tourney cant and think its wrong.

There are no Poker rms using Prop Players in the North East that I know of. Mostly due to the unlimited players flocking to these rms, & grinding out a living.
Prop players that I knew of in Calif. got very little for their services, & they used their own money, & were put into any game they were needed to keep filled, not a good thing if you stink @ Eight or better, & stud, & the NL/LHE tables are always full.

Pretty sure foxwoods does this for around 12 HR or something I may be wrong but I thought I ran into some people who do it

Hmmm, I would not mind being a prop, personally, even if I were to use my own cash.

Can anyone tell me what the 5/10 no limit situation is on weekdays at Mohegan. I know that they lowered the time charge, and now the games at Foxwoods are spotty. Are games going on a consistent basis now there?

But it is grinding with a wage =). Although I doubt I could still earn my Player's Club status as a prop, which would actually be an important consideration.

As I left the Poker rm 1 hr ago, there were @ least 2 $5/$10 NL tables going full
No one showed for the $5/$10 or $6/$12 LHE games of interest???
