If I ever heard a dealer say that to me it would be at least a year before they saw another dollar from me.

That is way out of line.

What sucks is that the guy was a pretty good dealer. Kept the game going, was on-the-ball, didn't lollygag or screw up, but that one statement really stuck in my craw. If you're a good dealer, you'll get your tips.

Yeah, I agree but if I know the guy is a hard worker and a good dealer I chalk it up to a guy who is at the end of a shift who had a hard day dealing to the fish and grinders who are to cheap to send him a tip and got fed up. Is it right? No. Is it human? Yup. Do I not get really pissed at the world sometimes and it shows up in something I do at work, Sure every once in a while. I think closing my eyes once in a while to the foibles of others is a good, no make that a great idea.
Besides, it is poker not life, if the buck means that much to you that you may not ever give a guy a tip, maybe it is time to find a real job, your bankroll is too small.

Don't you always chop because if the other guy fails to go for it, you lose even if you win?

I pretty much tune it out while I'm playing, and think of it later. My point was that this guy really didn't need to be digging for tips, because he was a good dealer. I'm' not the type to start talking about how a room sucks because of one bad experience. People have bad days. We all get grumpy or short with people. It's also only one dealer in a room over a 5-6 hour period. Just something that needed to be addressed.

I think we honestly all do it as players also once in a great while. Imagine grinding all day to finally get involved in that huge pot and get sucked out on the river to a 2 outer or something along those lines and give the dealer that discussing look when we lose.

Meh, learned to brush it off. It's part of life poker. We have bad days, they have bad days. Brush it off so you don't go on tilt, easy game.

everyone should play the 6max 7pm tomorrow, would love to get >40 players and it'd be hilarious to see them frantically scramble around for extra dealers

Is the poker rate good without having accumulated a set # of hours (book and then prove you played those hours before checking out, etc), and if not, how many hours do you have to play, can you get it on a Saturday, etc. Thx. May stay there instead of near the water if the rate is easy to get.

I don't even know if they have a poker rate outside of tournament time. They do offer discounted rates at hotels near the area that they work with. I think some Holiday Inn and possibly a Hilton but not 100% sure
