Just wondering...can anybody tell me if Mohegan offers a poker room rate during the week?

I haven't stayed there, but I read in this thread before that they do. Talk to a poker room floor person.

Anyone go last night? If so, how were the games?

I may end up going today.

Usually two tables. Later in the degen hours (2am+) it will die down to one table. Last week during one of the weeknights there were no 2/5 tables at 3am-ish because all the 2/5 regs decided to sit and play 1/2 because there were actually a good amount of tables going for the night.

Yeah, book a room and when you get to the poker room ask the floor about rates. They will call up and give the hotel staff a new rate for you ($69) and you will receive the difference in cash.

I find this to be rather typical on weeknights from 3 am-9 am.

Yeah, lately I haven't been staying so late but I'm pretty sure it's 50% this and 50% a short handed table (>5).

Also, to answer this:

I went last night and had a great session overall. I sat at three different tables over the course of the session but it was good move. There was good action too, although my second table had 2 regs in it that were nitting it up. One made this black dude leave after he called a $100 all in with 6 4 offsuit!!!! I mean, whyyyyyy would you berate this guy! He was fun and being great action. I tried to get the dude to stay but it didn't work.

ps, if anyone is looking for a fish at the table, look for me. i call $75 river bets with queen high. girls don't know how to play pokerrrrrrrrr, oooof

edit: structure for the 730 toruny? on website it says 20 min levels. seems short.

It is 20-minute levels, 12k starting stack.

thinking of playing the 10k tonight...first one for me. i was debating between the 240 deepstack at the woods and this....i think im leaning towards this one..

btw 20 min levels really isnt that bad. i mean any online tourney is avg 15 min blinds

um, yeah. but you see 3x the hands online.

20min live is like a turbo.

I wanna go play tonight in it as well.

What is the skill level? My intuition is that the players will be divided between live nits / loose-weaks / medicore online guys. Also, I expect most the players involved to be far below average at 1. Stealing and 2. Playing with a low M (i.e. correct push/fold/call game)

Is this correct or wrong?

#1 is almost a non-factor given the structure, #2 is correct, as people let their stacks get far too low before making a move AND call far too lightly when an opponent decides to push, in general.

EXAMPLE: I push with 76s on the button with an M of 3 and table reacts that it was a "loose push", yet I get routine calls by KTo and the like by people with higher Ms when my stack size is in the territory of 9 or 10 Ms.

Hmmm, interesting. I expected some of these live players would have a calling range that was too small vs. shoves late in these tournaments because they don't want to bust, but I guess they are still calling stations

Now I am getting the urge to play in the tourney tonight instead of playing cash...hoo boy.

PORK: There were only 44 runners for the Step 1 tourney last night...Top 8 got Step 2 tickets, with #9 getting $200.

In an online tourney your not getting 3x as many hands. I would go with 2x. But I semi agree.

And I agree most people playing don't have proper tourney technique.

I also think the tourneys perfect for stealing giving the structure. Blinds get high bubble comes and people lock up. Their shoving range and calling range are always the same around their top 10% maybe even 5% at times. Stealings too easy there.

People play so slow late it can be very slow 3x online is prolly true. Plus all the added levels online. 20 minute levels definetly is a Turbo structure live

I couldn't book a comp'd rm tonite But I believe it's because of the Fireworks, & party on the roof, on Wedesday nites in the summer, we Sagamores, were told they were booked up full...
So if your look'n for a rm tonite, Wedesdays, you might want to book a week in advance.......

PORK: There were a lot of runners tonight, about 140 total. There was also one table of 2/5 and one table of 5/10.

How did I do? Made a couple of bad decisions when I got outdrawn and donated, got short stacked, 3-bet with AK, and shoved at level 3 on an 8-high flop, being called by TT.

If anyone asks why I shoved with AK when I missed, it is because I thought the guy had a rack of chips on his lap.

The mods, for no good reason, really. In fact, all posts are now auto-deleted unless you post a pertinent fact about the current state of the poker room along with the rest of your post.

This is why I have my PORK tidbits--it is what prevents them from being deleted.

PORK: There was a sick beat at 1/2 tonight, an old reg was 1-outed on the river and threw a fit...the floor needed to intervene.

well isn't when i get to the poker room relevant, said i could possibly be there saturday and might meetup with a few people here (like i already have?)

i understand deleting the BBV but deleting mine is lol and unnecessary overkill.

since this needs mohegan sun content, any prediction on how many runners the sunday tournament on the 18th gets? I have a feeling that the saturday tournament is really going to gut into the sunday 550. cant play the 17th cause of a Sun game

How many runners do you guys think the Step 2 Sat will have tonight? They do start tonight, right? I dunno if I can pluck down the cash...depends on how my 1-2 gaming goes.

I agree. It seems like there should be someone that we can appeal to since the everyone(almost?) that posts in this thread wants that content in here.

I am going to play on Saturday this week. How are the games? As crazy as Friday? As busy? At what time do they get busy? There is no HHJ on Saturday, is there?

I already exchanged couple PMs with mod. I hate when somebody deletes messages unless it's direct violation of the major rules, but he has different opinion and just doing his job.
The only way to keep our free conversations going is to create new "MS players BS" thread outside B&M. I guess we can do this.

The problem is, where? Where could you put such a thread that would 1) not violate the T&C of that forum, and 2) not have to deal with randoms posting things like "lol live pokerz" and such? Rapini suggested that PG&C could be an appropriate place, since the threads there are somewhat bloggish. I ran it by Bobo Fett and he said it seems a bit borderline but could be ok, he'd run it by some other mods. That was 2 weeks ago, and no word since.

Also, the weekday poker rate is $69? Is there one for the weekend?
