please please please dont change it back...last aggressor isnt as big of deal as everyone in the thread is making it out to be, its actually quite simple

You already have all the advantages when you're in position, if you bet and get called with no further action you should have to show your hand first and not get the free information when the other person is paying to see. There are quite a few good reasons for this but on phone and playing and dont want to type them all.
Finally a rule change for the better please do not change it back!!!

It's funny bc 6/5 was created to combat card counters back in the day I believe. All the bj play stopped and then they gave back the player odds out of no action. Seems like mgm is going all retro on us. In due time it will probably switch, just need players to stop playing lol. They're still trying to cover their opening nut.

Last night was the first time I played 2-5 in the back on table 33, instead of up front on 1,2,6,7,11,12, etc. In the front section I've never seen it take more than 5 min to get a seat card picked up, but on 33 last night on THREE separate occasions it took 20-30 min before the card got picked up. In one case, two seats were open.

The last time, we ended up getting the dealer to hit the supervisor button even though they told us they weren't supposed to. This supervisor walks up to the table and says, "What do you need?", she tells him about the seat open and he says "Thank you" with an attitude and walks away. We thought he was ignoring us until we noticed the supervisor had just went to check on a few other tables before picking up the card on his way back.

I think it would make it easier if you put the ninth 2-5 table on table 18. You never open 10 2-5 tables right? At least there it would be close to the other ones even though it kind of spoils the 2-5 on the left 1-3 on the right thing.

Also the supervisors asking each table individually on the microphone if they have any seats is pretty obnoxious. This only seems to happen at night.

Other than that love the room. Didn't even notice the hand shuffling because everyone was fast. But obviously someone wasn't doing their job. I think the day shift was picking them up, but sometime in the evening supervisors just stopped checking.

Seat Cards and calling names from the waiting list is one of the biggest issues with the floor i feel. This seems to happen constantly at 5-10+

*Can we consider having working cameras in the box area to allow transactions? (coloring up or down, cashing out, buying chips)
I think the security this provides is huge. Not letting people become targets with large transactions up front is >>> anyone who is worried about cheating their taxes and thinking the IRS is going to watch the footage of how much money is in their box
(this is one of the most important issues to me and MGM NH is the only property i have had a box at that doesnt allow transactions in private)

**Still no form of bell back there.....

***also is that door ever going to get a lock? I was told shortly after it opened the door was to be changed in 3 days and a lock added but that still hasn't happened.... no camera and no lock on door is not to thrilling to me

I really appreciate the work you guys have done listening to customers and making changes. The floor has gotten much better all around and things have been running smoother.

This is unlikely to happen, but what are the odds one of the gold railings that separates the poker room from the slots on the side can be removed or adjusted to allow a straight shot to the bathroom?

Are they there for aesthetic reasons, or to stop casino players from wandering in and grabbing a random seat at a table?

Edit: I'm sort of an idiot- I see there's an opening by the exit doors in the back. Not quite centered depending on where you are in the room, but better than nothing.

Can't comment on any coverage, but you are able to color up/down in there, provided that your play is verified. I purchased a bell and put it in there myself. The entire door was supposed to be replaced. I will follow up on this.

ok great, this is wonderful to hear.....i am denied every day in there saying they aren't allowed (i am verified play 97% of my volume at 10-25+)

Is this something you could talk to staff about and make sure they know we are allowed to do chip transaction at the box window?

Thanks for your help and also following up with the door. Cheers

Good to know. Thanks for setting me up with a box, Johnny.

I have forgotten how much faster LHE plays than NL. I played a 60-120 LHE session today and the game is pretty good -- friendly, talkative, and a gazillion times faster than all of the ridiculous NL tanking.

NL ring needs a shot clock. I sat in a deep 2 5 game and saw at least four five-minute tanks. I called for a clock on two of them, but WTF.

I've had the same thought. A gap in the railing in the middle would be pretty clutch.

I have tried to explain to so called pros numerous times that tanking for 5min in no way allows them to play good enough to make up for the fact that they are driving action players away. Live poker win rates are driven by the action players and you can't expect to make a living without them.

Not to mention that it is incredibly unfair for one or two players to take up more time than the rest of the table combined. I don't understand why the ethics of poker culture tries to protect this behavior. I guess it's because of poker on TV? If you're at a final table of a big tourney playing for millions, please take your time, it's worth it for any number of reasons, and no one can get up and leave unless they bust. However when you're playing midstakes cash and the action at your table leaves to the pits because you're so slow...

I think I'm going to start calling clocks much more often. It can make the atmosphere charged and somewhat hostile, but a 5 minute tank for 375 at 2 5 is simply ridiculous. If it's a 5K call, fine.

If you had 2/5 tables with and without shotclocks or timebanks I almost guarantee the shot clock games would have better action. Plo playing much faster is a major reason some players choose to play it.

I like the pace of Limit. We are trying to cultivate some Limit business here, but it's like pulling teeth...

^^^ THIS

As part of the working class, I play only Fridays to weekend only. My play time is precious given I work all week. I can vouch that for me and for nearly all other of us- we used to play NL and most of us dabbled in PLO to check out action. PLO was faster with way less tanking and overall more action/fun. Me and most rec players have never gone back to NL. I'd rather playing a lower stakes PLO than a mid/high stake NL game anyday. If tanking was removed, me and those others like me would probably go back at times to NL.

Wish I lived closer. Could help out in the 10/20 range.

As far as who to show when no river action, just institute a 5 second rule. No one shows them the pot is rolled over to the next. Have no patience for that BS.

Serious suggestion is to have the dealer point at the player to show first and say show or fold. (If more than a few seconds go by). Then enforce it.

Completely agree. Once I started playing PLO, I wont go back. Two reasons, one the speed of the game and two, it blows playing 2-5 10 handed. Way too crowded for me.
