I've had the same experience at Live. It feels like a very ghetto thing to do and really turned me off from going there.

It is not the price that bothers me. The problem with National Harbor is that firstly, they do not offer a good variety of beverages. I don't know that I can even buy Gatorade, Coke Zero, Pepsi Max, Diet Mt Dew? And secondly, they don't have their act together with comps and you have to play this stupid transfer game.

If you're looking to make poker players happy, let them bring in reasonable beverages. People that are cheap are not going to buy anyway.

Has anyone been told to throw away or get rid of their water bottle, or been prevented from taking one in by security? This sounds a lot like a rule that is never going to be enforced.

Has hppened to me on 3 separate occasions randomly. Now I anxiously try to hide my water bottle as I come in every day not knowing what the actual rule is.

Speaking of water, the water refill station is still not working and we're 10 days removed from the boil water advisory.

You can bring a reusable water bottle. They have a filling station in the back near the bathrooms.

AFAIK no outside beverages is a Maryland law for any place that serves alcohol.

Judging by Bravo, good ol' 4-card PLO is as dead here as it is up at MDL. Or does anyone know if/when any 4-card PLO runs here?

Also, for the 5-card, is Mississippi straddle allowed? (the FAQ says it is allowed for "PLO" so wondering if that carried over to 5-card.)

Never runs, I long ago stopped even starting a list.

The last time I played in the 5-5 game it played 5-5-10 with two $20 rocks. It was a fantastic game - then the game disappeared seemingly overnight. Last time I played in it was probably...18 months ago at least.

If this is true, it would have been good for Johnny to say it. His response to my question made it sound like this is the policy of the casino, the poker room, or him.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter. I spoke with our head of security about empty water bottles. You guys should be able to bring them in.

No, he didn't make it sound anything like that. You asked a question if you could bring in a full Gatorade bottle. Johnny then gave you a simple and direct answer of "No, you cannot."

Somehow that didn't suffice because why? Sigh.

I must not understand slang
to me the Ghetto thing would be bringing your own drinks
if you can't afford a drink and a $1 tip you probably shouldn't be in a casino

would you walk into a restaurant with your own drink and expect it to be ok ?

What if you want Gatorade? Or anything else they don’t serve in the Casino?

We are installing a retail kiosk right beside the poker room. If there’s demand for Gatorade, we will put it in there.

The reason did not satisfy me because, to me, it sounds like the casino is trying to nickel and dime its customers. It sounds like the casino wants its customers to buy bottled water and other drinks, rather than bring their own drinks.

To me, this appears to be confirmation that the casino is making an effort to unreasonably squeeze every penny out of its customers.

If I have a medical need for a certain type of drink, and if I were to bring it everywhere that I go, I would expect
every business to understand, and allow me to drink my beverage without questions.

I would also expect that everyone should not be asking me questions about bringing my own drink, unless they suspect that it contains alcohol.

It may appear that way, but that’s not the case. It will sell a scaled down version of what our retail stores on property sell, with some items determined by demand of our players. It will also sell charging cables, headphones, poker apparel, cigarettes, etc. it’s much more convenient than walking all the way to the hotel gift shop, and will be open at our peak hours.

Casinos are hardly the first venue to institute a no outside drinks policy. Sports/concert venues, movie theaters, etc. Get a grip folks.
