If you come from Northern Virginia, then its not just the average time, but the frequent backups on 495/95 in Maryland at random times. If they go that way and leave 2 hours before their shift, they could still be late. There is also rush hour traffic toward MGM, but not the random complete stoppages that direction. If they are in WV already, then the drive down 270 is more predictable, and likely not that much different.
However, it may also be the perception that tips will be better at a more upscale facility.
