The wait is a bit frustrating in our side, that's all. Each day, I eagerly click on this thread to learn of news and suffice it to say, my curiosity is piqued.
I feel the same way. Eventually you will be pleased.

Johnny, anything we can do to reserve in advance our seats at the poker tables the 1st day MGMNH's poker room opens?

batting my eyes and remaining hopeful . . .

Johnny, should I be asking you for life advice?

No, unless it involves which type of chee-toh to eat or cigar to smoke.

Starting to hear more and more about MDL dealers who are moving to MGM. 2 good ones I know for sure - one going to floor at MGM, one going to deal - and a couple others that would neither confirm nor deny which probably means they just haven't given notice yet. Prediction I heard was that about 20% of the MDL staff will move over.

A number of dealers moving from C-Town, also.

how much closer is mgm than md live if you're at c-town?

cant be that much closer such that it took mgm opening to jump ship?

Well, I'm not a dealer, but for me, in western MD:

C-Town is a 45 minute drive,

MDL is 82 minutes,

MGM is supposed to be 75 minutes without traffic (hahaha).

I would think that depends on where you live.

If you come from Northern Virginia, then its not just the average time, but the frequent backups on 495/95 in Maryland at random times. If they go that way and leave 2 hours before their shift, they could still be late. There is also rush hour traffic toward MGM, but not the random complete stoppages that direction. If they are in WV already, then the drive down 270 is more predictable, and likely not that much different.

However, it may also be the perception that tips will be better at a more upscale facility.

must be one hell of a perception of mgm if these ct dealers weren't willing to jump ship to md live.
or one hell of a sign up bonus Johnny is giving out to poach..er.. entice talent to come over

agree with keegan's traffic analysis

one factor in jumping to MGM over Live is MGM has more (upward) mobility if they want to move to Vegas or elsewhere later

I would hope that being located where it is MGMNH would give consideration to when they have shift changes given that the outerloop can be gridlocked for 2-3 hours in the morning and at night as well as the innerloop from @ Branch Ave to the bridge.

These are the kinds of things you just dont have to deal - disclaimer: for the most part - with at CT or MDL (if you live nearby).

I could actually see a lot of scenarios where you wouldnt necessarily want to jump ship simply based on the newness of MGMNH. If you havent lived in the immediate Metro area you simply cant appreciate how debilitating traffic can be and how much time/cost it adds to your day.

Ey Johnny are yall looking to get some poker tours to stop at the MGM in 2017?
10-31-2016 , 08:00 PM
I know an excellent dealer who ended up getting rejected, so I'm expected top talent all around.
11-01-2016 , 01:55 PM
HSB is also sending some dealers, but I could see turning the job down, I have a friend who is a table games dealer/ dual rate at MDL and they applied for similar at MGMNH and were accepted but declined the offer, not wanting to break their lease and move.

I am boycotting the room for the entire month of November based on Johnny's exceedingly polite refusal to offer any information of substance.
