They sure are taking their own sweet time with it.

I was told by someone who usually works in the VIP room fri/sat nites that no more free food there after it re-opens.

it looks like they're cutting back on freebies.

the 'free' cruise this year is more limited + less choices.
(maybe blackcards get more in the cruises? but I doubt it since they were the same as platinums last year.)

It says 5000. We know it's 14 a day, which is why we all agree it's impossible through poker.

You can believe whatever you want, the rest of us will follow the materials released directly from the casino itself.

Plus the mahi was moist and flaky instead of the usual dry & overcooked.

Do poker hours mix with slot and table games ratings for tier status upgrades?

yes they do.
but I don't know how it's mixed.

Platinum = 500poker hrs or 100k tier points

If going by a straight ratio:
if you played 300 hrs of poker, then that's 3/5 (60%) of the way to platinum.
you would need 40k tier points?

My understanding is that they do not mix, and you need either the poke hours, or the table games hours, and they are completely independent of one another.

I just asked a supervisor in the poker room, they don't mix.

Thinking about taking a weekend trip down from NYC in a few weeks, maybe catch the yankees in town. Was leaning toward taking Amtrak down from Penn station (NY), anybody know where this lets off, how close it is to maryland live or how to get from one to another? i obviously will not have a car

Best option is to take Amtrak to BWI airport station, then take the Maryland commuter bus 201 for $5 from BWI to Arundel Mills mall, which is the very next stop in just 6-7 minutes. At BWI, you get on that bus at the same curbside where the taxi stand is, in front of a simple bus shelter. Will be a sign there for that bus number. Buses leave on the hour every hour until 11 pm. At Arundel Mills, the bus drops off in front of the Medival Times restaurant. You can then walk around that lot to Maryland Live, or walk into mall and then head to the food court and the casino is right in front of the exit of the food court. Going back - just go to that same mall bus stand for the BWI bound bus.

Schedule pamphlet:
http://mta.maryland.gov/sites/defaul...LineForWeb.pdf

I've taken that bus to BWI to catch Amtrak to NYC, so I'm very familiar with these logistics. It is quite a reliable service given the route and destinations, so you should find the above instructions to operate smoothly.

Alternative if you don't want to wait for the commuter bus is to simply take the cab from BWI station. Cabbies aren't too happy with that stop because they wait a long time to get rides and the fare is not that much to them for that wait. So if you take a cab, you may ask the first cabbie if Arundel Mills is a fare they would be ok taking, as a courtesy to them.

To get to the ballpark from the casino, you can take that same bus back to BWI station then take a commuter MARC train to the stop closest to Camden Yards - I've not taken it but you can ask the station manager which train to take - it is a very busy station so they would know the train/times etc. I don't know if there is a bus that connects the mall with a stop close to Camden Yards - can ask the bus driver or go online to find out.

To get to the game, there isn't any rail service that connects the two (Arundel & camden yards.) BWI can maybe use MARC, but by then you'd be better off taking Uber - it's a quick trip on 295 between Oriole Park and Arundel, and probably runs < $10-$20. Actually, after the game you could walk to the Horseshoe room as well, while waiting for Uber's Surge Pricing to end (which it sometimes does on weekends.)

I have tix in 3rd row for that Saturday available on Stubhub, but I don't think my wife would let me knowingly sell to a Yankee fan

You can also take light rail from airport to camden yards. Straight shot.

Right, from the airport that's the way to go. If you're staying at Arundel, then the trip via car or bus to BWI plus the trip on the light rail is probably more overhead than it's worth IMO.

Also do note: the BWI rail station where Amtrak is is about 2 miles from the BWI airport terminals. That said, there is a free shuttle between them. The BWI light rail station to downtown is actually at the airport terminal, not the Amtrak/Marc rail station. That's not confusing at all.

If you're doing a pure day-trip centered around the game (no hotel) then your best best might be Amtrak NYP to Baltimore Penn station. Quick cab/Uber to the stadium area and you're in business: game and gambling all in walking distance. (And interesting sight-seeing at the harbor if that's your sort of thing.) However you will miss out on the suburban majesty of the MDLive Parking Garage and Casino.

Does anyone know exactly how the $25k Sunday Drawings in June will work? How much each hour, how do you earn entries, etc...

Soccer4life if taking a bus is an option you can try Bolt Bus. It stops next to Horseshoe in the Grey Hound bus stop and at the Mall.

It would be definitely cheaper than the train.
