It's a pay cut if you do make the money.

First of all it isn't a pay cut. You're not getting paid for a job in the first place and you're not making less than you used to for the same job because the pool in a bounty tournament works the same way, every time.

Secondly it only lessens the prize pool if there was going to be overlay. When's the last time Overlay happened at a MD LIve bounty tournament?

The Big Game Giveaway is for JP Eligible Games only:

Whenever there is a score, we will randomly select a table, and depending on what the scoring play was, everyone at the table will win.

Kickoff Return for TD = $500

Punt Return for TD = $500

Safety = $500

Defensive TD = $500

Offensive TD = $250

Field Goal = $100

This is awarded to everyone at the table.

In addition, we plan to have Pizza and Sliders from 7pm to 9pm

Thanks

Mike

Are you still planning on running the $330 tourney the same day? Not sure how the promo might effect the trny entries.......folks may be unwilling to play the tourney if they can't lock up a cash seat later.

Are the amounts listed per person??? Like 500$/person/selected table? If so that is insane!

Also headed there now to hopefully get the horse going.

I think we should start as 6-12 and then just gauge willingness of people to play 10-20 on a game by game basis. If it still fills at 10-20, awesome. If not, probably should stay at 6 12.

I'd like to hear from other 6 12 horse regulars regarding whether they would like 10-20. I can't think offhand of anyone in our little group who wouldn't WANT to play 10 20.

Also, what the HELL is the problem with having a kill to 10 20 at horse just like with o 8? The day we did that was AWESOME. Why can't we do it anymore?
I'm a once and while horse player. I'm the 30ish guy who prefers to keep holdem in the lineup (only game I have an edge).

I think I wouldn't play 10-20, but would still play 8-16. I think 8-16 would play more loose with massive looking blue chip pots. I also think 10-20 would scare to many holdem players from trying horse out. I know I wouldn't.

Kill for horse sounds pretty fantastic. Do u do it for All games?

Also, I was unaware of any horse player (even occasional) who's 30ish (besides me and ZoeyDunno) Haha. Kids in my generation are so closed minded when it comes to anything besides nlhe and PLO it seems.

Kill was AWESOME. For all games. For non-split pot games it was triggered if you took down two pots, not counting stealing blinds/antes) consecutively.

Nice job with the Super Bowl promos today and thanks for the food. Must have been nice to be on table 30 during the game.

Mike, I know this question gets asked about every promo so lets get it out of the way now. For the flop promo does your second card have to play for flopped quads? 72o on a 777AK board. Do you win?

Brad,

Thanks and yes Table 30 should have had a blast.

Any two cards can flop quads. Only the flop counts in this promo. So yes, you can flop quads with 7-2.

Thanks

Thanks Mike. You may want to refresh this rule with your dealers. One of the not so great dealers was aggressively arguing that if you flop quads you need to shove unless you have an Ace kicker.

Seconded. Sounds as though this dealer may be confusing the flop promotion with the recent high hand promotions.

While you retrain them, reinforce the idea that they should shut up during a hand. Last night, one of your dealers took it upon himself to comment, "Think long, think wrong," after I had check raised and my opponent was tanking.

After the hand which my opponent folded, when the opponent was away from the table, I tried to politely advise the dealer he should not make such comments because it might change the thinking. The dealer's defense was that he was trying to advise the other player that he was taking a long time.

That isn't the dealer's job. The dealer should keep his mouth shut about how long a player tanks or anything else having to do with the hand. Your dealer did not seem to get it.

Yup she was saying that for every promo you needed to use both cards. I tried clarifying that this one is a flop oriented promotion and that if you flop quads it doesn't matter what happens after that but she wasn't having it. To be fair I don't think she was dealing here last year when they had the same promo but she could have handled the discussion a bit more professionally.

First week of the promo is almost over. Just curious - any royals flop yet?

I so fondly remember the first time this promo ran, on day 1, there were two royals and 3 quads in about 2 hours, across 3 tables, and my table was one of the royals+quads.
