I will sell you mine, if you value it that much. Games were good today, too bad i couldn't stay longer. Expect a long wait if you plan on playing anytime the next few weeks. Marylanders are excited for poker it seems.

earlier in the thread, there were rumors that everyone that played in the poker room earlier today received a free hat as a promotion. I'm not sure if that promotion extends all day, or was for the first few hundred participants or what. Maybe Mike Smith will chime in on this later on.

everyone who played early got a promotional hat commemorating the first day of play. There was one sitting at every seat when I walked in the room. I would guess that they are long gone now.

Agree that finding the tables was confusing at first. But once you know the layout its pretty straightforward. One suggestion could be to have a map of all the poker tables with their numbers, maybe located at the registration podium. Thats if they dont want to implement hanging table numbers, which im sure have negative aesthetic effects.

Also heard from one of the dealers today that the height of the TVs (which really are very low) has to do with the contractors ignoring the plans and putting them where it was easier for them to hang. Who knows if they can fix this and hang them a little higher which would make it much easier to see.

We should have some of those up front...great idea Not sure how my bosses would feel about hanging signs although I have suggested it. We are going to put big white number on the Jackpot slot and that should help some.

Thanks to everyone today for their patience as we tried to seat a lot of people expeditously? I'm glad we only have to open once

Thanks

Mike

Clear plastic frame on the back of the dealers' chairs where you can slip in a placard with the table number (so you can switch them to the right chair/placard/table). An idea

Accidently 3bet tighest guy at the table when I grabbed 2 reds and a green instead of 2 reds and a blue!

Of course I HAD to bluff the xAA flop only to have him shove on me.... $90 up in smoke!

LOL

Yeah Mike,

How come only 1 2/2 PLO and 28 1/2 NL running right now? Since you have 52 tables and the 1/2 NL takes up more than 50% or the entire floor. What's the deal with that and why not run at least 2 2/2 in the future so other players like myself would have a chance to play.

Any news about the BBJ? See anybody collecting for the BBJ? If not, how do they pay for the royal flush?

bbj started at 20k and builds from there. mini bbj is i think 10% of it.

the high hand jackpot get rewarded whenever someone makes whatever they have as their high hand jackpot qualifier. might be only royals, no clue.

Congrats to everyone at Maryland Live for what appears to be a fantastically well-orchestrated opening day. Running smoothly and at full capacity / 52 tables first day open is amazing. Not to mention (FINALLY) a logically decided upon spread of different games and limits, a first for the mid-Atlantic region.

Thanks for raising the bar guys! Well done.

P.S. Please save me a seat Friday am!

I understand who gets what when a Royal flush dealt. My question is since this being the first opening day and the BBJ has not been collected, where's the fund coming from to pay for the Royal flush? Don't they normally coming out of the BBJ fund? If no BBJ fund on the first day how are they paid?

Sorry, misread your post (I've had a few drinks tonight).

My guess is that the room is funding the initial BBJ until enough money is collected to cover the cost and then the BBJ will begin to accrue.

How's the level of play been so far? I've been curious whether the opening would draw more regular hardcore types and I was thinking about holding off till things got less hectic anyway, but if it's donkfest 2013 I'd have to reconsider.

I don't think they're short dealers they have no more tables to open new one. They should have 85 tables like the Borgata and can you imagine this Sat. being a holiday weekend? The waitlist could be 3 hrs at prime time like 12 noon.
