I'd love to come but I'm full time going to computer school for my Microsoft and A+ certifications until the end of the year.

I've only played a few days this month online and really have had a lack of desire to play. Come January, I hope to be playing live in casinos again! GL if you go. Don't forget to comment here as to how the HOSE tournament or cash HORSE games are going.

I sure will. You may want to circle Thursday, October 21st on your calendar. Palm Beach Kennel Club (Dog Track) is having a H.O.R.S.E tournament. $5,000 guarantee with 7,000 units, starting at 12 noon. Buy in is $120.00.

Gee wiz ausales, don't post that here in this thread IMHO. Out of respect for Wil and his staff at Mardi Gras we should keep this thread IMHO Mardi Gras related. That is why I created this Mardi Gras thread. For generic South Florida poker I use this thread: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27...thread-776630/

But thanks for continuing to keep me updated and would love to beat you and Gambit at the poker tables again real soon !

You are right about the post. I also get frustrated driving 45 mins from Boynton to the Mardi Gras to play in a HOSE tournament or HORSE cash game to find no tournament and 4 names on the Cash game list. I left at 3:15 pm and will not be back anytime soon, sorry Wil. Wil, congratulation on the birth of your son. Mazel tov. Teddy, you can take a shot at me any time, you just have to post the time and place.

I see your point. I too wish Mardi Gras was closer and we had a strong HORSE turnout... Perhaps during the season it will pickup and there will be more interest.

Teddy
PS - And "ditto" to you Wil on the birth of your son.

Whats up Mardi Gras players, I just moved here last Sunday on the 3rd from South Carolina. I live in Deerfield Beach. WOW i love it, two blocks from the beach, two blocks from the, i dont know, six bars right down the street. Pretty much its awsome. Well the first night i was here went down to a Sports Bar and grill right near a 7-11 sat and had some drinks and of course met someone that liked to play poker. I asked if he wanted to drive to Mardi Gras and he said yes. I was really exicted for this. Turns out we went to the Isles that night. I was pretty buzzed... no acutally i was drunck. So i sat in the 1/2 game and it was really soft and pretty easy. Long Story Short i lost the 150 about 45 minutes into play. I really dont even want to tell you how i lost because its so bad. I just got a job today so ill be playing with you all soon. Anyways I SUCK and Look forward to giving my money away aswell as meeting some of you and calling Mardi Gras my Home Base. ...Vidal

I too live in Deerfield Beach. Although I'm not playing much poker these days, maybe in the season we can meet up.

Hello All,

I haven't been on here in a while. I was out of work for two weeks. I just had a baby, so 2+2 fell by the wayside a bit.

I will look over the posts and will reply as needed. I will also post info on Florida Million II.

Nice to be back!

I wasn't there, so admittedly this is second-hand info.; regardless, if an online or B&M poker room advertises a tournament with a minimum guaranteed payout, shouldn't it go off rain or shine, regardless of how many people show up & buy-in?

It was on the calendar with only one week left It would have been good faith to finish out the month.

They also could have canceled it the day before or even morning of but to sell entries right up til the start time then have to wait on line for a refund was just plain wrong!
We did have to cancel and I apologize for the way it was handled. 15 minutes before the event we had 7 players. We had lost money on every single event. In retrospect, we could have handled it differently and I take full responsibility and I apologize. We did accommodate most of the players that were there with a juice free tournament, free meals and drinks as well.

Thanks Harris. It is frustrating for me as well. We are working on some new ideas for the new year to help those issues.

Hey Stu,

Not yet. We had an interest list for both buy-ins yesterday, but no game. We told the state that we would start in Nov, so we could not offer on Sunday.

I expect to see a run on Satellites end of the week. You can call in and put your name on the list: 954-924-3200.

Yeah i started the interest list yesterday, and recruited about 3 other players too, but obviously it wasn't enough after waiting (playing 2/5) for a few hours I gave up. If a few people on this board want to set up a time so we can get these satellites off lets do so, im in!

Did they get enough players to hold their November 13 Day 1 Florida Million event? It was to start at noon but when I got there at about 15 till there were only 5 tables with dealers and it did not look like there were more than 20 players at most. At noon they reset the countdown clock for another 30 minutes. When I left at about 12:25, there seemed to be even fewer players.

Did they also have scheduled a Day 1 event for November 6 that failed to go?

Unfortunately, we did not have enough players for this Saturday's event. We currently have an event scheduled for this Sunday, November 21, at noon. We do expect this event to take place.

We are currently running SNG Satellites for this event.

Other rooms that have a BBJ, also have a fund that awards tickets for such events. Does Mardi Gras not do this? I feel if you gave away X amount of tickets that would garauntee a kick off, then you would get a better turn out.
