Not approved yet by the DICJ. More likely to be allowed at the APT or APPT Tournament events later this year as a test and then approved as a formal MAcau game. Unlikely before Q4.

Thanks, makes sense to have it in the APPT for a trial first.

Many of the dealers cant even work out who has won in Hold Em, PLO would be a serious problem right now just on that basis

Now my profit is dropping off due to so many small stakes grinders...I guess I need to focus on Omaha.....6 months of training should be enough.

The only half decent club in Macau is called Cubic, in the AIA building. Generally lame R&B music though. All the other clubs are crap with bad music and filled with on and off duty hookers. No problem picking one up for a quick fling and the off duty girls are often looking for a bit of action away from their job.

As for the local girls, they are generally to be found in karaoke bars with their mates. You might have a chance if you can actually speak to them, otherwise you will need to hope that the 'language of love' is enough to get by on!

Guys, this forum should be about POKER, not detailed travel information.

For those who want to know more about Macau from a travelers perspective please see the following thread in the Travel section;

Yes, SnGs are offered at PokerStars Macau by request.

With PokerStar @ GL now, poker players will be spoilt for choice and need not subject themselves to long wait at Wynn. Interesting to see how this will affect the market share currently enjoyed by Wynn. Ideal if the expected keen competition will force them to lower the rake and match StarWorld.....

LOL Good luck. You know the waitlist @ the WYNN? GL are happy taking the leftovers. What competition?

Doubt having PSM there will make THAT big a difference. WYNN will still have the biggest piece of the pie no doubt. What makes having PSM at GL change anything? Was your experience at Grand Waldo that good?

Like I've said on previous posts, you must know your customer. 2+2ers are not your customers, the clientele are the Chinese mainlanders. Keep bringing in the newbies, concentrate on pleasing them. I'll be happy to put up with crap if it means softer good games. There are already lots of full-time grinders in Macau, fish to shark ratio isn't as juicy as it once was.

It's certainly made a difference to player numbers. The $3000 freezeout tournament had a guaranteed 100k - final prize pool was $270k. 100 players, all full up.

Also had 10 live cash games running when I left shortly after midnight last night. That's got to count as the biggest piece of the pie, seeing as Wynn only ever runs 8 tables. I heard a report of only 7 tables at Wynn last night, unconfirmed btw.

Exactly, what you are saying that when the place has tournies going on it does better. That's what PSM can do, the only time they had decent action in GW was when they had tournies. Without them, the tables collected dust. Until WYNN has at least double digit tables, the demand will most always be stronger than supply. WYNN can have cash games going 24/7 and not worry about running donkaments. Cash game food chain still starts at the WYNN, old GL poker room and newly PSM run GL poker room action will be similar IMO.

Basically, what I'm saying is will this new GL poker team generate huge gains compared to the old one? I hope they do anyway as I want to the game to get bigger.

Sigh, here I am being paranoid again guys...

Unless Starworld changed their rake in the 10-20 game in the last two days, it's the same at every property in Macau...capped at 100HK.

At 4:10pm Saturday (March 21) there are 19 active tournament and cash game tables at the new PokerStars Macau at the Grand Lisboa.

Macau Poker Cup Event No. 3: Deep Stack, 126 players. Needless to say PSM has shattered every guarantee in re-opening at Grand Lisboa.

GL poker room had reputation for 10-20 games but last night ran 50-100 and several 20-40. It will be interesting to see how the 10,000 buyin Red Dragon event does at 7pm.

I don't understand why they closed the online (PStars) registrations for the CUP like 2 hours before the events. Too late now anyway.

Can you cash out Pokerstars money at G Lisboa?

Without speaking for Poker Stars, I would expect that they want to keep seats spare for the locals who are probably too busy playing poker at the actual room to all sign up more then 2 hours in advance.
