While a taxi driver can perfectly bring you to your desired destination and therefore can charge you for his services and be called a "professional" I doubt that there are really "Baccarat Pros" out there, meaning that they could generate a longterm income...you also cant beat Blackjack without counting cards. Being a shark loan is a good business thou I can magine, by lending cash to all these broke Baccarat and Blackjack players and charging 10% interest...per week

There is a 100-200 HK$ PLO game at the Wynn, which is the only one constant dealt as far as I know. Anybody else knows other bigger PLO games town?

We are mainly online pros, but since the LIVE games are so juicy here in Macau we force us (yes, you have to force me since playing LIVE is sooo slow) to play more and more LIVE as well.
There are alot 25-50 (and even 10-25) live pros in Macau from what I know; but most of them couldn't beat a 10 cent/20 cent online game, so now you get an idea how good they are...(and how weak these Macau games really are when they can make a living in them)

as I am bored I will try and anwser you question as good as possible

- travel to Macau (weekend)

if you plan on going to Macau for the weekend ( friday night, saturday night, sunday night ) you will need at least 3K HKD for hotels and food

if you plan on playing 10/25 you would want at least 10 HK to play with. in reality it is only 2 full buy ins but if you buy in for less you would have 3 buy ins .. one for each day of play

3333HKD buy in should be enough on most 10/25 table in Macau , so with 10K HKD you have 3 buy ins .. one for each day

conclusion : minimum amount for a weekend of Macau = 13000 HKD

- travel to Macau ( one week)

basically the same as the weekend plan but you will need more money

7 days of 10/25 = 23000 HKD
7 days in random hotel = 6500 HKD ( week days are cheaper ) + 800HKd for food and drinks

- living in Macau ( for ever and ever )

you will need a nice 10/25 bankroll. if you are serious about playing and want to deal with the Macau swings you will need around 45k - 50k HKD just for poker.. the bad days can be bad.. the good days are heaven !

the first week or so you can stay in a hotel, but after that you should try and stay in an appartment.

living in Macau can be very cheap I have seen appartments that go for 2k HKD a month and they are still very OK to live in . by no means are they pimp or super deluxe but they have all you need for basic living. two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom .. what else do you need?

to get an appartment like that you will need to make an effort and make sure you go to the right agencies , some agencies will specialise only in high end places ( 10k + )

once you found your appartment you need to sign the contract ( 1 year minimum) and pay for the deposit ( usually 2 months rent)

so that will set you back around 7k - 8k

living in macau = 60k HKD


not a perfect anwser and I am sure you can do it with less or with a lot more.. but if I was in your shoes this is what I would do
