I've been there a few times to play pool. Do they do cash sometimes too? When I was there last I think they were playing a £10 SNG...

it used to be run by a genuinely good person, since then i havent been back much and while they dont get many runners, it is for only a tenner or score, pretty damn good poker if you just want a couple of hours to enjoy yourself.

plus like someone said its in the pool hall so you can always play a few games after

Vic yes as long as there not white and Palm Beach no... But wouldn't you prefer to look like a random high roller in the Palm Beach so people don't think your a pro?

Anyone done the sat for the Genting Cromwell Rd big game? Used to be the Palm Beach Turkey hunt.

Plus how many London regs go regually to DTD? I haven't been yet but will for some WPT side events. may the force be with me, I will need it.

Place looks alright, with pool tables, screens everywhere etc

Any idea if there is rake on the cash games? And how often they run

Oh so the Avatars not real? False advertising....... However if it is real i blame a bottle of wine for the salivating. Got to blame something as I feel ashamed.

Hi all,

i am visiting London next week for 3 days. My hotel is close to Aspers and i am planning to visit it. I would like to play a low BI tournament and maybe take some shots at the cash games. Any tips from 2+2ers who have been there?

Thanks

Alot of people say the Friday £55, £10K garanteed at Aspers is good except first gets less and its spread out among the rest. Its also nice to walk around the huge shopping center on breaks or if on tilt etc.

I played some cash at Aspers but not enough to inform you well.

i would imagine lots, there was 100's of london regs up for GPS, this event has a £1,000,000 garentee for £500 buy in (there are 50 x £3000 seats taken from that prize pool but its still £850k prizepool)

Day 1's are proper long, 14 levels of 40mins iirc so if your taking it seriously i would drive up the night before and be fresh for a long grind, i imagine the Friday final day will be the busiest, its a 3 day event, but they are doing a turbo day on the Saturday at 12, in total 7 start days including online and turbo flight, but i think there is a chance of an overlay, given that the event is something like 450+50 so they need 2222 runners, which is 317 avg per flight, which is not going to happen on the first few live days as there are not that many players locally rolled for 500 satellite punts and they will be pushed to the max on the thursday and friday to get people seated and in (they have a big gazebo to house more tables)

anyone planning on playing blackpool GUKPT which is the same days?

Thats great info and advice for all of us Fazzers! I'm also thinking about the £125 Warm up event which also runs with 8 flights or so and is £250K guaranteed, 30 min levels which change to 40 mins on in some part of day 2 or the final table. I'm thinking of doing 2nd last flight this Friday and maybe Sat again if bust. I'm actually pretty excited.

It would be good if there was a big overlay for the £500, I'm not really rolled either but lets see what happens and if i decide to take the risk If I don't cash in the £125.

I'm probably going by train from St Pancras and don't mind going on the day. Probably book a hotel for 2 nights to begin with. Cheap and ( well not so cheap the prices have gone up)cheerful.

I don't get why the Blackpool events at the same time.

Good luck !

Yes, the problem with this 10k gted freezout is its structure. Too many prizes, maybe 13%, compared to the usual 10%. 1st prizes get the buy-in or little more, which is quiet ridiculous to me. Up to you.

i would love to give a shot to the WPT500 , especially with the 50*3 000£ seats, but there is the 220£ london poker tour on 15-16h november week-end, which is quiet interesting enough, with no travel expenses on it.

I guess you only want to put people in bad spots, where they can't succeed, and not say that something is on a good way to be realised. I find it disappointing.

Nevermind. I continue my grind of low-medium london live mtts.

You misread what people wrote to you.

People will post when something interesting comes up, not because you want them to.

I don't think any of us were trying to discourage you just to advise you
Even though you had a great result at the EPT festival, I stick to my opinion that it would be very hard to make a living or even grind a bankroll playing low medium mtts only.

For what its worth I was pleased to hear that you had taken down a side event at the festival (especially after your losing start to your London mission)
I am sure a lot of 2+2 regs feel the same but we cant post congratulations every time one of us takes down a tourney

I hope your good run continues and you take down a few more before the year is out

Good luck at the tables

I don't think i did missread it. I only say there was quiet a lot of reactions saying that i could not grind the live mtts, for serious money, when i posted my will to do so , in london. And now that i somehow show the contrary, there is no one but you.
But i understand also, i am the only one excited by this new.

No, i don't say discourage, but the reaction was important.
I also agree with you that it is not possible to do that for a living at this level.
Thank you for you pleasantness....And yes it is after downswing, and i am getting one again, actually. Poker is never easy.
I don't want congratulations each time, of course, but i mean the ratio of people reacting against playing live mtts is not equivalent to the one, saying, afterwards: "GG, maybe you can grind live mtts to the top, as you said. GL."

Anyway, i close this short subject. Your reactions against my project were not so important to me, and your absence of reaction to the positive neither.
