Don't know why y'all don't just play the home games! Same soft players with a little higher rake, but free food and drinks as well as buying in deeper. That's how I paid for school when I was in tally. I know they still have games Tuesday and Thursday nights. Sure as he'll beats the hour commute to jckc!

Almost positive I kno of the games u speak of, they always ran a nlhe/PLO mixed 2/5 rotation that was great

last time i played that home game guns were pulled out

Honestly, with all the **** I kept hearing about those games I think a 2/5 game just leads to begging for trouble. I'd prefer to play 1/2 just to feel safer :P

With the recent success of PLO on Wednesdays, there has been talk of trying to get a 5-10 Hold 'Em game on Thursdays. We will strive for next Thursday at 6pm*. The buy-in will be $300 minimum, $1000 maximum. Come out and play some 5-10.

PLO is Wednesday night

the last two Thursdays I was there they were pulling for plo action and they had it running on the last two Fridays. I imagine 5-10 could run on Fridays too meaning more people waiting off of the 1-2 tables :-(

On December 2nd, we will hold our annual end of the year tournament. The buy-in this year will be $220. Starting November 1st, we will begin to offer Sit and Go satellites into the big tournament. This tournament will be capped at 100 entrants. Please sign up early.


The Sit and Go structures will be posted in the room on November 1st. At that time, will will also offer 10 player, cash Sit and Go's until the end of the year. i.e. once we have 10 players sign up, we will begin.

I can not express the happiness following through my body right now. I have played at JCKC several times with the most optimistic outlook possible. Every time I leave there I am disappointed.
I AM SOOOOOOOO HAPPY Gretna opened! I have been following this project since the start. I work two jobs and can't leave town a whole lot. JCKC was my only option most of the time. I live kind of far from JCKC and I would call up there and ask if they had any 2/5 games running. The same guy always answered the phone. I think he is the guy that does the announcing. GOD I HOPE HE IS READING THIS!!!!!!!
Anyway, I would call up to JCKC and ask if 2/5 was running on some nights because I didn't want to make the hour drive if not. This guy told me he wasn't allowed to transfer me to the poker room and he wasn't going to give me that information. I didn't even want to know who was playing or the stack sizes (which is my most common inquiry) I just wanted to make sure they were running a damn game! OMG this guy was such an ass. he was so rude and kept telling me it was against the law to give that information out. What a joke. Aside from every other complaint everyone already knows about this place that one thing just didn't sit right. I want to personally thank this gentlemen for the demise of JCKC. That place wont even open back up in Jan because of Gretna!
Gretna is a world class poker room and it was literally surprising to see how awesome it was! this gentlemen I called and asked about the 2/5 is a precise example of why JCKC fails. The owner, the floor guys Pat and John are old school. They are stuck in the past and don't want to change any of the rules for any players. Well JCKC you succeeded! YOU ARE NOW A THING OF THE PAST!

JUSTICE BABY! worth the wait! Gretna has real tournaments with GUARANTEES! Gretna has most of the dealers from JCKC already! lol, It was win win baby! I loved all the dealers at JCKC. They are a great group of people! Excellent dealing skills and all around nice (Probably the only good thing the management team did at JCKC, was train good dealers). other than that, well, the rest is now history.

And guys, sorry for Flaming JCKC. I know it's rude and i promise I am not one of those guys who go around and just trash talk everything. I am always happy and get along with most people. This post is a result of me never complaining about the track and just waiting patiently... The wait is over!!!!!

P.S. you can wear your hoodie and listen to music at Gretna (people that haven't played at JCKC won't understand that statement)

This is the facebook page. You can click on pictures or videos I think and see a video of the poker room on opening day. Every single seat was taken! lots on the wait. The room is awesome! On the slowest night they have 4 to 6 tables running!
