Lol, the new manager understands like zero about poker. She is just like a few of the floors is nice to your face takes a few suggestions and implements zero of them.

She also does not have a ton of power. Table games management still basically controls the room. She would do some basic things like letting the dealers keep their own tips which would help the room quite a bit but she does not have the power to make that happen right now.

They also should understand the grinders show up irregardless of how things are run. But they might play a bit less and a ton of casual players who play for fun hate the poker room here and play a ton less than they would otherwise.

Won't they have to pass another amendment for this to happen?

Yes. We're stuck with the Shoe as the only game in town for awhile.

Actually, buckeye closed bc the electronic tables were considered slot machines by the state. Hard rock can only have slot machines. Sounds like this was their plan. I heard that they will have electronic tables. I guess we have to wait and see.

My guess is that you are wrong on this. From my understanding the types of slot machines the horse tracks are allowed to have are limited to ones that pay back a certain percentage wagered. Which is the reason Thistledown has no video poker machines. All from my limited knowledge. But i don't think they will be allowed to have any of the PokerTek machines.

You might be right. I don't know for sure. Only a few know the answer but this is what I heard. I think it's crazy that the state said poker tables were a slot machine in the first place though. We just have to wait and see.

Actually I think he is correct, for some reason the AG office determined the electronic poker tables to be classified as slot machines. But, Hard Rock and Thistledowns (and all racinos) may not have slot machines, only VLTs (Video Lottery Terminal).

It looks like Thursdays tourney has been changed from winner take all to a standard tourney. Can anyone confirm that?

From what I was told last night this is true.

I would love to run this room, but I expect little things like experience and potentially ****ty hours (for a family man) would make it unlikely to happen. And if higher ups don't listen, it probably wouldn't matter anyways.

If it makes any difference Karen (the current manager) never seems to be on the floor and I can't imagine her sticking around after we fail to get a Circuit event in CLE.

I honestly wouldn't even care if you couldn't get the higher ups to listen, I would just like to have a manager that actually cares about the game and the players.

Every great restaurant I've been too has a management presence on the floor...whether it's standing in a corner watching what is going on or helping clear tables and run food. I understand managers have to delegate, but occasionally doing things like working the desk, running chips, answering floor calls gives a manager much better perspective of the vibe in the room and how to solve issues that cause problems in the game. I regularly saw Jeremy doing everyday tasks, I never see the current manager doing this.

Well, feel free to start a grassroots campaign or if anyone in power over there wants to pursue it, they can pm me anytime.

I just read about an 11 days of christmas promo or something like that. 2 hours of play gets you an entry to win $1000 a day and $30k on christmas. Kind of sucks that they expect you to play on christmas to win if you are chosen. Hopefully thats not the case.

Karen really is not in charge of the room. Poker is treated as just another table game so table games management is officially in charge of the room. That is the reason for some of the weird procedures.

I don't think Karen has done a particularly good job and she is not very knowledgable. But her hands are tied also. She is not able to do some simple things to make the room better (improve the chip running, have dealers keep their own tips - simple stuff which she would do that would improve the room).

The "12 Days of Christmas Promo" has been removed from their Bravo Live location. Was it canceled?

I haven't been there for a couple of weeks...anybody hear anything.

if it was squashed.....I'm sure the State Gaming Commission will turn out to be the villian.

High hand of the hour now $400 with increased hrs. Christmas promo looks good.Things are looking up. Karen actually stopped by all the tables tday to talk about increase in high hand payout. Glad to see they're using that promo fund finally to reward everyday players.

The 2/5 game will go to $300min / $2000max, it's been acknowledged by most of the staff. When that happens is still up in the air. Supposedly the room is waiting on the plastic rake plaques that are posted at each table.

Dumbest thing ever. They are going to have a $200 max 1/2 and a $2,000 max 2/5 with nothing in between?

if that's true, that might kill the 2/5 ecosystem within about 30 days.

Unless they have 2-3 regular 2/5 games going daily, then will just accelerate the drain of money out of system but not as quickly.
