Whether or not the dealers keep or pool their tips is not the #1 problem that this room currently needs to address, having almost 200 people waiting and willing to play, at 4:15pm on a Saturday afternoon, with 12 tables open is totally unacceptable.

What excuse is management giving for these long waiting lists? Are they just apologizing saying "Sorry, we are understaffed and have hired more dealers who are being trained" or what?

yes, what excuse are you looking for

Not looking for an excuse in particular I was just wondering if they are lying in any way about all the issues or just openly saying "The room is a cluster #$#$ right now and we apologize",etc...

Got there around 1pm today. 1/2 list quickly ran up to 38 or so. Waited for at least one new table to open but no dice, finally got seated after 45 min at table.

Caesars wanted to hire inexperienced dealers with great customer service skills. How's that working out?

I was told today by an extremely hot friend of mine they wouldn't let her in because her skirt was too short.

Seriously? WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THIS CASINO

Anyone tried to get a poker rate at nearby hotels through Jeremy? Is it worth calling about?

I have a question about Total Rewards points. I know you earn 17 points an hour at the 1/2 NL table. Is the rate the same at the 2/5 NL table? I can't find this information anywhere. Thanks for the help.

Some new dealers started yesterday. Every dealer at my table said it was their first day. By 5pm all 30 tables were going.

Is there actually a 1/2 limit hold em game running right now? Can anyone confirm that? If its true I can't imagine how bad of a rake trap it has to be if they are using the same rake rates as the other games. It makes 3/6 look like a dream. Haha

That is a short-term problem.

If this "experiment" that Harrahs is doing is deemed a success by management (wrongly) it could be permanent and apply to ALL their properties as time goes on.

Yes, short term lines are a problem.

Losing all decent dealers because they can't keep their tips will be a BIG long-term problem!!!

What were people buying into the 1/2 limit game for? $20? I can't even see how anyone would remotely consider sitting down at that table

I was on the list for the 5/10 HORSE yesterday, it never ran.

The 5/10 mixed game listed was a 2/5 mixed game that was switching back and forth between a 2/5 PLO game. It was at table 3, and the times I headed over that way, a few of the players were pretty deep (2k-3k) - so I doubt this was any kind of a limit game. The only game I ever saw running was PLO, so I'm not sure if it was PLO/NLHE, or if PLO8 was involved, or whatever.

I got there at about 9pm and it was listed as a 2/5 mixed, and within an hour or so it got down to 4 handed, then turned into a 2/5 PLO. It filled up and had a couple people on the waiting list, then turned back into a 2/5 mixed on the board/Bravo. I'm assuming that eventually evolved into a 5/10.

There was NOT a $1/2 limit game. I saw that listed while I was there and went to the table to look, it was definitely no limit. Someone entered the table into the Bravo incorrectly. Also, for some reason, while the $5/10 limit was going it didn't show on the screens in the poker room even though the app showed it.

I guess if you'd be a break-even player if there was no rake, this game would be your best 'win rate' since it would have the smallest pots. Even though the rake would be the highest as a percentage of the pot, it would be the lowest in absolute dollars.

Maybe they got 10 people together with this philosophy.

I really do not think that the dealers are that bad. I think that you would have to say that at least half of them are pretty good dealers and you cant really tell they have been dealing for a couple of months. Some of the women are pretty suspect but they will weed themselves out.

I think one of the problems with the pokeroom is the lack of experience of who is running the room. The filling of empty seats is awful their are huge waiting lists of people wanting to play poker and they cant fill them. The waiting list should go in order but should be based on a first come basis. If you are not present when you are called you get bumped down a spot. You should reward someone who is being patient and waiting for a seat and is present. Paging someone on there phone and giving them five minutes is not acceptable. Let the guy who wants to stay and wait be rewarded. Also you see players locking up seats and disappearing for an hour coming back leaving. Its terrible for the game and they allow it. Add in a few empty seats and you are playing five handed.

The floor rulings are inconsistent but that is expected cause i dont think they communicate at all with each other about rulings.

The 1-2nl games can be pretty bad with people buying in for 50 dollars at a time. I dont see why they wont let you buy in for more then 200.

That's depressing. Other cities have this problem too. "Mixed" is not NLHE/PLO/PLO8!!!

There was a game at the table (15 I think?) to the left of the 1/2 PLO games that was 1/2 and every player had mostly white chips. I'll admit I didn't pay close attention to any of the action going on at the table, but when you see 9 people with stacks of white chips in front of them, you generally assume it's a limit game that doesn't use a red chip.

The only day I've seen it run is on Sundays, but I wouldn't say it runs every Sunday. I believe it did last week though, but not for an extended period of time. It was also switching back and forth on Bravo last week between "5/10 Mixed" and "5/10 HORSE" as I was watching it to decide if I wanted to head down there.

I've seen mixed refer to both mixed limit games, and a mix of PLO/NLHE on the few times those games have run.

Confirmed, I was playing at it, it was a 5-5 PLO/5-10 NLHE round-by-round "mixed game".

Also confirmed that PLO8 finally ran for the first time since the casino opened on Friday (and Saturday). I also asked the table and most of them said they'd play it regularly on weekends, though I'm hoping that people will start playing for higher than 1/2.

Also confirmed that Jeremy is trying to pass Big O, although I think we should see if we can even get PLO8 to run regularly first... supposedly the state has already legalized Badugi though, if anyone wants to get a list started for that? They even have plaques for it!

Confirmed on Sat. night. I played it briefly when it started and played like 10plo8 online (or a 10/20 live LO8 game). 4-6 way to almost every flop irregardless of preflop raises.
I too would prefer 2/5+ PLO8. If straight PLO8 doesn't work, perhaps a round by round 2/5 PLO/PLO8 might.

+1 to Big O too ...

I'd definitely be down for Badugi, or 2-7 TD if we can get those running at any point. I work weekday nights though so it'd have to be on a weekend.

I was on the 1/2 PLO8 list on Sunday night and that game didn't get off the ground either (though it did run Friday and Saturday as others have mentioned) - I'd play in this game every once and a while, but am not baller/good enough to play in a 2/5 or higher.
