Thanks cardking, that's too bad. I guess it's a product of being the only casino in Cleveland. Oh well. I hope the rake gets changed for you guys.

You did not read my post correct. I was saying that you get nothing in comps for playing poker at Hollywood Casino @ Penn National.

Heading up tomorrow to hopefully start a 10/20 mixed again at 6PM. We played Hold'em and Omaha 8 last week... would be up for a mix without any hold'em at all, but willing to accommodate any requests. Anyone else wanna join in?

Been following this thread since Horseshoe opened, and just read the news reports about dealers quitting and it's quite interesting! I think what has happened is the same thing you see at any new property that opens. You can only predict generally what might happen, and apparently they weren't expecting this much action right away! And, I do agree, the hiring process is somewhat weird these days, and some of those people are just not cut out for dealing. You will find that within a few months, things will improve and the better dealers will remain, hopefully ... but the whole thing about NOT getting to keep your own tips could surely drive them away, and that would hurt the room. Management needs to look into changing that ASAP since the poor dealers have no incentive to get any better, and the good dealers are not being rewarded for their work.

Give it a few months, everything is still new. Things will start to level off, and it will be just like the rest of the new rooms that have opened around the country in the past few years.

Although it sure is interesting to see those crazy wait lists on BravoPokerLive!

And just to clarify, tier credits have to do with just what tier status you are (e.g. gold, diamond, 7-star, etc.) and the perks you get with them, while reward credits are actual comps to be spent on food/hotels, etc., right? And do the reward credits always equate to dollars by 100 credits = $1, or does it depend on what you spend the credits for?

Also, I know you can talk to the floor if you're a familiar reg about getting deals/benefits at hotels affiliated with Horseshoe like the Ritz... any chance of them maybe being able to pull some strings for other Harrahs/Caesars-affiliated hotels/casinos, like Rio? Not to take advantage or anything, just curious whether they actually can...
I'm not sure if they can pull any strings for you but you should not have any trouble getting a really good rate at any Harrah's place in Vegas, even Rio during the WSOP just through their website or phone. Caesars and Planet Hollywood are their only two casinos that are really ever pricey.

From what i understand it does not matter what you spend your credits on, they all spend the same. All i know is im happy im getting something, i deserve a free sandwhich per 8 hrs played for all the rake that i pay.

Do you guys ever play this game on the weekends?

I can't usually play on Thursday nights, so no 10/20 for me tonight. If the game gets off tomorrow, I'll most likely play. I'd prefer a mix game, fwiw.

For those who played the game last week, was it mostly rocks or did you get some soft players checking in as well? I'd be surprised if at least one or two of the uber-action-donks aren't attracted to O/E and the 10/20 limits.

5/10 HORSE with a 10/20 kill on the flop games is spread on Sundays. I'd like to play this game on Fridays but in order to get the game off people would have to be willing to start by 5:30/6 according to Jeremy due to their high volume.

I thought the game was real good, I played from start to finish. Some people looking to play LHE that were inexperienced or didn't know how to play O8, guys randomly putting in four and five bets in O8 just to build the pot. LHE orbits were pretty lame and uneventful but that is more or less what LHE is. The floor actively promoted the room making announcements and going throughout the room promoting table to table so we cycled through probably 25 players.

i will be there to play tonight. not sure about starting a game tomorrow but its possible.

gettin in early to start games on fri and sat night would be great for this game as i think a lot of action players waiting to sit in plo or nl will play in the meantime.

if we start the game it will certainly fill, but it needs to get started short. jeremy seems like he will oblige with a table to start it, so we only need a few players willing to play short.

I've been considering a drive down to check out the action (primarily PLO) @ Horseshoe Cleveland... but from reading this thread, it seems like the rake is fairly obscene...?

6+1 is obscene, Moki, you'd know this even better than me. I don't think I have heard of a rake that high, even in a charity game in NY.

I agree that 6+1 is high but I don't know if you can call it obscene when 5+1 has become the standard in most places. You can still find $4 or $5 with no bbj in some highly competitive markets like Vegas but even that's getting harder to find. There's actually a casino in Illinois (the Grand Victoria) with an $8 rake. I've even heard of private games in states without casinos with uncapped rake.

I understand that, I'm talking in NY where both of the (rather) local casinos do 4+1.

I agree 6 is high for rake. They are taking advantage of their market share. But I don't think 1 higher than the norm constitutes obscene. Dissapointing maybe. Now that nautica is gone most charity events in Ohio are capping 15 or 20. Now that's obscene. For what its worth the soft play at the shoe (at least at 1 2) more than makes up for the extra rake.

I hate to complain about service... but I am going to. I went there on Thursday and on 3 occasions with 3 different floor guys I was completely ignored and walked past. My wheelchair makes me short, but I am still ****ing visible.

On the Bravo app it looks like they always have 1/2 going and many times they get a 2/5 game. Also get 5/10 sometimes.

Played today at the Shoe...overall the dealers have shown alot of improvement over the last few weeks. Our table had two run ins with the floor. First, the floor made a horrible, incorrect call on two guys acting out of turn and then not allowing the other player to bet. Second, and by far the worst, a female manager when called over to the table to make a second ruling actually told the table that if the floor had to come over and make a third ruling, "she would kick the entire table out of the room." Then she told players to stop talking about her rulings in a threatening manner. Apparently, the customer service training didn't work.
